We went to a game at Tropicana Field for the first time with friends that live in St. Pete. It was opening weekend and the Rays played (and lost) against the Boston Red Sox. This ballpark is terrific with not a bad seat in the house. The concessions are under new management and they were excellent. There is no doubt that Tropicana Field is enjoyable and easier to get to and leave than our hometown Washington Nationals Park in D.C.

We came to the Tropicana Field to watch the Tampa Rays and the Boston Red Sox. We had some special seats at the game due to a friend. I had a great time at the stadium. The staff were great to us. I would love to come again.

Tropicana Field is possibly the most poorly designed and least loved ball park in MLB, and deservedly so, but it’s easy to get good seats here and they still have a live organ which is great. Go! The concessions are really limited though so save your appetite for before or after the game. Definitely recommend arriving on foot. The walk from downtown is fun and lined with good bars, restaurants and shops along Central Ave. We loved the wood oven pizza and Italian aperitifs at Bavaro. Green Bench Brewing Co. has a great selection and nice outdoor seating. The amazing fruit popsicles at Hyppo were perfect on a hot afternoon.

We attended the Easter Sunday game here. Perhaps due to the holiday but there was a VERY SMALL crowd. (25% full?) Even stranger was the fact that the vast majority of the fans were cheering for the Boston Red Sox. As far as the stadium goes, it is fairly comfortable with good size seats and large aisles. However, the entire place looks old, tired and dated. It’s fairly depressing compared to every other stadium that I’ve attended . Still, overall a good time.
Hint: if you’re using Uber/Lyft make sure you know the location of the pick up point BEFORE you call.

We are Red Sox Fans and Fenway Park is our Gold Standard. But, we had fun watching the Rays and Red Sox at Tropicana Field.

This is an easy field to visit. Parking is inexpensive and right next to the field. The cost of admission is inexpensive compared to many (maybe most) ballgames. The cost of beer, hot dogs, ice cream and peanuts is similar to what you pay everywhere else.

The interior of the field is dull. Lots of empty seats. They could use a second a jumbotron. Seats and leg room are typical.

Friendly staff. Fun crowd and atmosphere.

We had a great time.
