The eggs benedict is made with pancetta and it is delicious! They have $4.50 mimosas, bellinins, and bloody marys for brunch. The outdoor seating is very nice, and fully covered with an addition of fans. The only disappointment is the beignets. They are not beignets by any means. They really need to be renamed french toast sticks. They are dense and rectangular strips. Not at all a beignet. We did not eat them and the server never thought to remove them from the bill, even after we explained they were not a beignet and he agreed. The overall experience, however, was great. Just don't expect a real beignet if ordering them. The eggs benedict far outweighed the negative. As well, it was Wimbeldon Sunday and the chef made us berries and cream as a special request! That was greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back.

Dear Crystal23:
We are so happy to hear you liked our brunch. I have sent your comments regarding the beignets to the Chef and we will see what we can do the recipe to better authenticate. We love the fact that Chef was able to create soemthing special for you for Wimbeldon Sunday. Nice touch! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

I have dined at this restaurant multiple times and have enjoyed it every time. The restaurant is very nice, more upscale, and the staff was very attentive. The restaurant offers multiple different areas to sit at so don't be afraid to ask for a more private area. I thought the food was very tasty. Each time I dined there was a different menu which is standard for these types of restaurants. The menu had a wide variety offering multiple choices. I recommend making a reservation as this location seems to get busy later in the evening. This location also offers a rooftop lounge/bar which is very nice. The location of this restaurant is great with all the shopping and other bars located around. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Tasty sauces would have made dinners excellent, except for shrimp that was not fresh and chicken that was not fully cooked. We should have known better when a nearby table order the Catch of the Day, and it came with a powerful fish smell. Good, fresh fish never smells; fully cooked chicken never bleeds. When asked how we enjoyed the meal. the floor manager was definitely not interest in honest feedback. Several floors above the restaurant is the Canopy Bar: definitely worth visiting; the view is great, so is the Happy Hour. Skip the bottom floor restaurant.

Hi RRB1221,
We are sorry to hear that you did not have a 5-star experience with us recently at Birch and Vine. The chicken entrée you ordered is brined in pink sea salt and soaked in buttermilk which gives the chicken a red look to it inside. We are very sorry this was not clearly explained to you when you ordered, but we can assure you that it was cooked all the way through. Our fish is as fresh as they come. We get our fish daily from local sources which is why our Day Boat entree changes each day. We do hope you understand and will give us another try. Thank you.

We had purchased a couple promotional vouchers from Travelzoo for $55 each. Each voucher was good for a dinner for 2 that included one appetizer or salad (up to $18) to share, 2 entrees (up to $42 each) and 1 dessert to share (up to $10). The voucher did have some restrictions, but not many. We started out with the Display of American Duck for our appetizer. It consisted of a sandwich, cut in half, with several types of duck meat on it. Also included was a beet, watermelon and greens salad. Very tasty. For entrees my spouse had the grouper that was delicious, and I had the Neiman Farms sampler that consisted of meatloaf, a beef chili and some sliced steak. Again, very good. For dessert we had the Bananas Foster. Flamed table side, it was excellent. Our server, Alex, was very attentive, and helpful. Cocktails were well made. The only minor thing is that should consider getting better bread! All in all, a very nice meal in a cozy setting.

I guess our timing could not have been worse. We were downtown on a Sunday afternoon and decided to have an early dinner before driving back home. We had been to the Birchwood Rooftop Canopy Lounge several times, but never tried the Birch & Vine restaurant on the ground floor. The dinner menu looked interesting, but the girls seating folks said we couldn’t order dinner items until 5:00 pm (it was about 3:45 at the time). So, we looked at the appetizer menu, but were told those items were only available at the Rooftop Canopy Lounge. Since it looked like we were about to have a downpour (it started raining hard about 10 minutes later), that seemed like a bad option. So, we were told the only items available were from the brunch menu. We decided to stay anyway and were seating inside the restaurant. Once we were seated and already were given water, we were told we had to order brunch items by 4:00 pm or we couldn't be served, so we made two quick choices to meet the deadline for brunch.

The inside of the Birch & Vine is very attractive and the server was attentive and friendly. We ordered the Fried Rock Shrimp and Grits and the Fried Chicken Biscuits, which turned out to be a good news / bad news choice. The Fried Rock Shrimp and Grits was the good news. Although not large, it was a decent size for a breakfast item. The red peppers and chorizo added to the grits gave it enough kick and the whole dish was very flavorful. However, the Fried Chicken Biscuits dish was a real disappointment. The “crispy chicken breast” was very small and not very flavorful, while the biscuit was also small and nothing special. The “bourbon-smoked peppercorn sausage gravy” might have been good, but there was so little on top of the chicken breast that it was hard to tell. Perhaps they ran out of gravy at the end of the brunch? Anyway, when I order biscuits and sausage gravy, I expect a decent portion of sausage gravy rather than a spoon full. Also, perhaps again due to being at the end of brunch, the “fresh cut fries” that came with the dish were quite greasy and barely warm. I am still giving the Birch & Vine a Very Good rating based upon the service, inside décor, one of the dishes, and the benefit of the doubt regarding the timing of our visit. However, had I only ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuits my rating would have definitely been lower.
