Stayed at a nearby place last couple of times to PCB, but making last minute plans near a holiday week limits what you have to pick from within budget. Stayed here for a week - Room 801. Saw several reviews about the age - it is an older building, 10 stories, 2 elevators (one on each end) but staff is working all the time on something. Two smallish pools - but never really got over crowded. Right out to the beach. Got there early (never want to be between Birmingham and Montgomery on a Saturday in daylight hours unless you like bumper to bumper traffic). Checked in at office around 11 am. We had communicated with them we were coming early - of course no guarantees until the people before you actually leave. Check in is at 4 pm - so we headed off to lunch and got the call from the office that the room was ready before we got done eating. Small issue with door to laundry area - maintenance was up within 10 minutes and had it fixed within 30 minutes. Saw maintenance and cleaning folks out working the entire time we were there. We just had the one room, but ran into a couple of groups of people that had 10-15 rooms per group for families that have been coming for years. Love the quiet part of the beach and despite it's age is good value. If you are looking for activities, night life on property, ultra luxury high rise - look elsewhere. Looking for enjoyable time on the beach with family and friends - here you go.

We have been staying here for 3 years now, and we like it....wish there was some sort of a poolside tiki bar/grill.....quiet property, mostly families...the property overall is beginning to show its age, but in fairness, the maintenance crew and staff is out working each and every time we visit.....we will stay again.

deltasky, thank you for your review. Your kind comments are most appreciated. You mention the property is beginning to show its age. What specifically do you see? We do have plans to rework the grilling areas and replacing the wooden lattice fence. These projects will hopefully commence in the fall.

Thank you again.

Recently was my second time staying at the Pelican and it was nothing short of a beautiful hotel. We stayed in room 901 after seeing pictures online we specifically asked for the room. However the second night into our stay, the bed in one of the rooms collapsed underneath us. The next morning we promptly went to report the incident, without demise the young lady at the front reassured us that a gentlemen will look at it after our stay. Our trip comes to an end and we receive a damage charge for 300 DOLLARS. We quickly call the establishment assuming it must be a mistake and we are told that the charge is for the bed that broke down underneath us. It is completely unacceptable that we were charged for something completely out of our hands, something we REPORTED IMMEDIATELY, something that inconvenienced us during our stay because the bed was not sleepable. We made no fuss about the bed not being usable, not being sufficient for our stay. Management is not understanding and not accountable. It is so disappointing that I was one of those people who raves about this place and yet now I will no longer be returning. Book with caution.

The unit we stay in is great. The complex however is in need of updates and the pet fee is ridiculous. $150.00 per pet per stay. Pets have one area to go across the whole parking lot. Not really sure where my $150 is going.

If you are looking for clean condos with easy access to Panama City Beach and it's activities, but not in the center of all the commotion, Pelican Walk is for you.

The units are clean and have great amenities. The balconies overlook the beach for spectacular sunsets. There is direct access to the beach (no crossing the street) and there are two pools for when you are ready to get out of the sand and surf. The managers are friendly and accommodating. There is plenty of on-site parking.

One fun activity is to look out at the water and watch the rays and dolphins swimming off shore.

I will return when in PCB.

Room Tip: Pick an upper floor for better views, and an end for more exposure.
