“Great location. Clean condo. Terrible elevators.”
Reviewed 23 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The Tidewater is right on the beach and within walking distance to the Pier and all the shopping. McDonald's is across the street for morning coffee and Marco's Pizza is steps away for casual dinner. Two large outdoor pools offer plenty of space. The indoor pool is small.

The condo was very nice. Clean and well equipped. The refrigerator doors stuck and were hard to open, but otherwise no complaints. The unit is located at the end of the long hallway so it's quiet. The bunk beds are great, but there's no door to close off the beds from the living space. The condo comes with two chairs and umbrella which is great. But get in line early each day to reserve your seats on the beach.

Now for the negative...the elevators. It's common in a High Rise to have to wait for elevators but this was ridiculous. First, people were checking in and out all day Friday and Saturday so the elevators were loaded with luggage carts. Plus, the cleaning staff is filling the elevators with their carts. When an elevator finally stops at your floor it's either full or you have to squeeze in like sardines. To top it off, the fire alarm was set off on Saturday so the elevators were down for several hours, then the maintenance staff could not get them working for several more hours. My biggest complaint was there was no staff anywhere to help direct and organize the crowds. My 84-year-old mother had to climb 20 flights of stairs, after we waited almost an hour for the one working elevator.

I really liked the condo we rented and I would recommend it, HOWEVER, if climbing stairs is a problem, book a room on a lower floor so you can walk up, or have plenty of patience.
