We booked our extended family into this historic beach home in Ormond Beach, Fla., from July 25 to Aug. 1, 2015. The property includes a spacious, two-story house (originally built in 1947), an adjoining apartment that's above a three-car garage, a large yard, a pool, a jacuzzi, and direct access to the beach and ocean. If you have a large group or family, this property is a great,, reasonably priced deal at a good location that can accommodate as many as 16 people and pets.
All the members of our family enjoyed our stay very much. The view of the beach from the main dining room in the house and from the upstairs adjoining apartment is beautiful. You have plenty of space in both facilities. There are hotels on either side of the property and the beach usually has a lot of people by mid-day, but the property itself is pretty private.
Kitchens in both the house and apartment are furnished with appliances, utensils and cookware. There's wi-fi in both buildings but sometimes you have to reboot the modem (by unplugging it and replugging it).
Location is near major Daytona Beach attractions (it's on the main drag of Atlantic Avenue).
Beach at the house location is smooth and spacious. If you're out at the right time, you might see a dolphin (we did one morning).
For people with disabilities, the property has access ramps.
We highly recommend this home for large groups or families. But book early -- it fills up pretty fast.
