Description: The Kona Cafe infuses a bit of Asian zest into traditional American breakfast, lunch and dinner fare in Disney's Polynesian Resort. Indulge in the scrumptious cinnamon and banana-stuffed Tonga Toast or choose from a variety of more savory breakfast options like a variety of egg dishes and pineapple macadamia nut pancakes. At midday, satisfy your hunger with an Island chicken sandwich and housemade sweet potato chips, shrimp and scallops, or other tasty entrees. Dine in the evening on delicacies such as a selection of fresh fish, grilled ginger-crusted ribeye steak or coconut almond chicken. As you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this Polynesian restaurant, feast your eyes across the onstage open pastry kitchen that prepares divine desserts. Kona Cafe offers authentic Kona coffee as a perfect pairing to these pastries, or as a rich addition to any meal.

We have been dining at Kona Cafe for years, but this is the first time we ever ate here for dinner. My daughter is a burger aficionado and excellent cook, herself, so when she researched the Island Style Beef Burger at Kona, we knew we had to try it. Let me tell you, this burger is incredible. Every component on it (except the tomatoes) were prepared perfectly. The flavor combination was unique and the bread on which the burgers were served brought it all together. The fries were good, but not anything special. Now, we had seen on DFB (Disney Food Blog on YouTube) that the bread pudding at Ohana's was superb, and since we knew Kona and Ohana share a kitchen, we asked for the bread pudding for dessert. Our server happily agreed and, wow... the best bread pudding we ever had. A few nights later I got the bread pudding at Olivia's at OKW and was greatly disappointed... and I used to love it! So, if you do decide to eat dinner at Kona Cafe, pace yourself, plan to bring some of your entree home (or share one) and be sure to leave room for the bread pudding. We will be returning, for sure.

We love this place and have been here multiple times for breakfast. The food here is delicious although I actually don't care overly much for the Tonga Toast which is one of their signature dishes, the bread is just too dry. However the macadamia nut pancakes are yummy and so is the French toast and egg dishes. The portions are reasonable for Disney prices and the service is excellent. They also have a tasty Liliko'i mimosa (or you can just try that as juice) and their signature Kona coffee is heavenly as well. Overall our favorite breakfast place in WDW and we'll be back for sure.

Shared the Pan-Asian Noodles and the Kona Turkey Sandwich. Both were good, but each had an unique twist to them. Waitress was friendly, but could have been a little bit more attentive with drinks.

My husband and I ate here before we got on our cruise & were in a little bit of a hurry. No problem there, our food came our promptly and so delicious. I recommend the smoked salmon! Very reasonably priced as well.

We came here for sushi. Unfortunately the sushi was not available, so we had to order from the entrees available on the menu. We understood so thought, no problem...
The food was pretty bad all around. I opted for the chile rubbed shrimp. It was 4 pieces of shrimp on a skewer on top of some tomatoes, greens, onion, etc. that had way too much dressing on it. We shared a crab cake Appetizer which was equally lackluster. For dessert the mango cheesecake sounded good, so after a very disappointing meal, I was looking forward to something I can't find every day. It too was not very good. It was dry, had some pineapple in the center of it, and 4 raspberries with an overly sweet sauce.
The only reason I give this place a "2" is because our server was very friendly. TIP: if they aren't serving the sushi - leave!
