Description: Emeril's Tchoup Chop (pronounced chop-chop) is the hottest table in Orlando, and Lagasse's second location at Universal Studios. The name offers a hint of New Orleans' famous Tchoupitoulas Street, home to Emeril's flagship restaurant, and the bold culinary term "chop". Located at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, Emeril's Tchoup Chop offers a dining experience unlike any other created by the famous master chef. In both atmosphere and menu, Emeril's Tchoup Chop offers diners a unique and exotic journey through the Pacific Seas with a delicious experience of Asian and Polynesian influences complemented by his signature bold flavors - a perfect complement for the Royal Pacific Resort. Although walk-ins can be accommodated, reservations are highly recommended. Our dress policy is casual with no tank tops for men. Bernard Carmouche, Culinary Director, and Lee Kaleel, General Manager, are dedicated to providing you with that memorable dining experience.

“Felt generic for 5 star place:(”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

We were celebrating a special bithday and wanted to have a special dining experience. Our choice was a big chef name restaurant: Emeril's Tchop at Royal Pasific, Universal in Orlando. The interior decor of Emeril"s Tchop restaurant was exotic and charming. The menu looked enticing. However, the dishes were not prepared well: the lamb was dry, the duck dish was undercooked, the portions were tiny for the price. We liked the fusion of the spices in the dishes, but the meat was not done well. The service was not of a 5 star place. Waiters had an attitude of a chain food restaurant, not attentive or enthusiastic. There were several different people tendering the table which created more confusion than help. Overall, the place needs a lot of "tweaking" to live up to 5 star reputation. It has great setting and potential. Unfortunately, our dining was rather mediocre.

“Great food & beautiful restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2012

The menu is delightfully unexpected for an Emeril restaurant. The food is more Asian. What a lovely decor. We had a delicious dinner and the service was great. It was my birthday and they treated me so special. We highly recommended this restaurant.

“Tchoup chop was tgood good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Interesting decor and somebody was thinking about the acoustics in the place. The service team was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. The only faux pas was being set up with white wine glasses for our Pinot Noir. My wife ordered the crispy Kalua chicken egg rolls with an orange-chile dipping sauce, which was outstanding. My steamed pork & asian vegetable dumplings with sake-soy dipping sauce was good, but nothing special. I liked my braised short ribs, which were falling off of the bone and very tasty. One of the surprises of the evening was Chef Emeril's favorite fried rice. It was fluffy and very tasty. For desert, we split the crispy guava & sweet cream cheese dumplings
mango and lilikoi sauces.

It was another nice evening at Emeril's

“Not impressed for my return visit”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2012

This was our 2nd time going to the restaurant. The first time was a few years ago and the food and service was amazing. We just went again lastnight for our Valentine's Day celebration. We walked out of there thinking we should've gone to a cheaper regular restaurant and had better service.

As many servers that were standing around us, we sat there for nearly 15 minutes before someone came up to us asking if we wanted to order our food. My husband said "how about you serve us drinks first!?!"

The food was just okay. Nothing spectacular. They have dishes that have heat to them but lacking in taste. If I have to add salt and pepper to my dish... not good! I have to say the wine selection for my dish was really good and I'll be looking for that at the stores :)

Unfortunately we won't be back. There are too many other restaurants out there that have what we want out of a nice restaurant.
