“OK, but not great”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

Stayed at Jamba for the weekend with the kids. the service was very good, and the hotel lobby was nice. the room was the smallest i have stayed in, and the bathroom was so small, you have to get behind the door to close it. the bed was so old and creaky evertime we moved it made noise. we stayed on the club level, which gave us access to the lounge. while quite expensive, we feel the lounge lacked ammenities for this price. the wine was barely palatable and the glasses were the size of shot glasses. there could have been more variety of snacks as well. the view was nice of the savannah. however, as previous posters said, this place is remote and not in the middle of anything Disney. a 20 minute bus ride to the park. i was disappointed that staying on a Disney property and paying the premium got us absolutley no perks for the park - no early entry, nothing. we wont be back as there are better properties for this price.

Really enjoyed staying here. They have the best pool on the Disney property. We did not use the buses; we rented a car. We could get to any place at Disney within 10 minutes. The room was ok. We got a pool view instead of a savannah view. This allowed us to save almost $100 a day. One of the best things about AKL is that it feels like you are in a different part of the world. They have so many plants and trees that make the property beautiful.

Boma for breakfast is good. Not so good for dinner.

Room Tip: Pool view room on the third floor

The hotel is beautiful! Dining is fabulous. I don't particularly enjoy tipping 18 and 20% on a buffet at Boma, especially when all the waiters and waitress staff provide are drinks. Seems crazy.

The busses outbound are fine but when you want a bus home at the end of a long day to return back "home" be prepared to WAIT! Two Coronado Springs and other resort busses to every one Animal Kingdom Lodge.

This is as close to an African experience without being in Africa that I can imagine. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a work of art in itself, everything about our stay there was phenomenal. We loved the pool, we loved the food, we loved the feel of the place (peaceful), we loved the art, we loved the staff, we loved watching the animals. It's one of my favorite hotels in the world. The spa isn't much to brag about.

Stayed 4d/3n July 31st - Aug 3. We bounced over here from the Beach Club. And that fact may have put a whole different slant on my view of the AKL because I did not enjoy this property as much as I did the Beach Club, which is an Epcot area resort. However the kids loved it here. It has so many activities for the kids poolside and at the outlook area and the night goggle thing for looking at the animals. They basically had to be pulled away from the resort to go to the park. I would stay here again with them but only on weekends because the wifi just does not work in the rooms and so if you go into the bar area or the lobby to work on your laptop pretty soon your battery is dead and there are no plug outlets, just not a good property for business people and I unfortunately have to work while I vacation so .. The lobby is beautiful and we ate at Boma's (buffet) and over at Sanaa one evening and the food was excellent. The rooms are smaller than the beach club rooms and unfortunately if you get a room with a connecting door you don't get a separate dresser. That was a MAJOR drawback for us since we travel with everything but the kitchen sink. We had a pool view with a balcony. Used the disney bus system to go to Epcot , AK, and MK and was probably the best of all the bus wait times I have ever had at disney. Everyone very nice at this resort. Recommend for families with children as is very kid friendly and my grandkids LOVED this place.

Room Tip: If you need drawer space ask for a room WITHOUT a connecting door.
