“Disney Didn't Disappoint!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2013

Our first stay in the Alligator Bayou section and we were not disappointed. We had a corner room in building #15. The room was very clean, beds comfortable and it was very nicely decorated. We also enjoyed swimming in both the quiet pool in our section and the main themed pool. The only disappointment is the lack of storage space in the bayou rooms due to the space the Murphy bed takes. Riverside is one of our favorite Disney resorts and we will return for sure!

Stayed here in the Alligator Bayou for 4 nights. What a beautiful, fun, family focused hotel. Disney knows how to host families! I can't say enough about everything at Port Orleans Riverside. The location was beautiful, rooms were very clean, pools were great, laundry rooms were close and clean, restaurant was awesome . The rooms were wonderfully themed and not tacky. There was even a murphy bed in addition to the 2 double beds. My boys loved it. I would not change one thing about P.O. Riverside in the Alligator Bayou and I have stayed all of the country. It is truly a Disney "magical" place. I have stayed in the All Star Sports Resort and off of the property in the past. Never again! I would go back to Port Orleans Riverside everytime. Be sure to stay in the Alligator Bayou section. If you are debating whether to stay on or off property.....stay on! It is worth the price to have no hassles with hotel and transportation. It could not be more convenient to just hop on the bus anytime and go anywhere you'd like. I wish I could go every year!

My children and I stayed at the resort in may for our 8 day vacation. It was a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable for a family of 3. They could easily accomadate 4-5. The double sink made it easier for the kids to get ready in the bathroom without any fighting.
The food was excellent. We only ate at the Riverside Mill. But the make your own pasta was delicious. The serving could feed 2-3 people without question. On one night we took our pasta and sat in the lounge and watched yehaw bob, which was a lot of fun. All the kids participated in the show and everyone had a good time laughing and singing.
There were plenty of activities at the hotel. We could not possibly do everything at the hotel and visit the parks too. The variety of things to do was excellent, the kids and I always had something to do.
The bus transportation was very good. The longest we waited was maybe 15 minutes for a bus and the longest ride was about 20 minutes to Hollywood studios. There was never a shortage of busses to any park. We took the boat to French Quarter one night for some beignets, which were excellent. It was a good way to end the night..
I gave the service a 4 because we had to wait 6 hours for our luggage to be delivered to the room. It was frustrating but not the end of the world.
All in all, the grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the service, food, and activities were fantastic. I would return in a heartbeat.

We stayed for 6 nights in April/May. Firstly, the cornbread at the resort restaurant was out of this world good. I would stay there again just to have the cornbread. The rest of the food at the restaurant was good too. As 2 25 year olds we were worried about staying at a hotel with kids everywhere, this hotel was so spread out I barely seen any.

The resort itself is huge, we had to walk 10 minutes with all our cases to get to our room. Our room was also upstairs (no elevator) which was painful. 5 weeks in to a 8 week trip - we already had too much luggage. Our room was about a 5 minute walk to the Disney bus which was handy. We stayed in Alligator Bayou. The room was a decent size and the theme of the room was pulled off well.

The hotel grounds were beautiful. We never had time to use the pool or visit any other hotels but we were happy with our choice. The buses to the parks were frequent and easy to use.

When I go back to Disneyworld, I will definitely consider staying here again (the cornbread will probably win me back).

We just returned from our first trip to Disney World and an exceptional stay at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort! As experienced Disneyland Resort visitors we had always wanted to see what the Disney World resort had to offer and we weren't disappointed. Staying onsite was truly worth it for our family of four. The customer service was impeccable -- from Disney's super easy Magical Express to and from the airport, to the easy and pleasant check in (special shout out to Zach, who was personable, sweet, and happily shared about his Disney College experience!) to Disney's efforts to accomodate our special requests, and the free transportation to and from the parks. The grounds were exceptionally lush, beautiful, well-tended, and clean, especially for such a large complex. We stayed in Alligator Bayou lodge 14 (considered a preferred location), which was close to everything. Although we understand a tad smaller than many off-site locations, our room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the countrified themed design. Be forwarned that the food court was always very busy, but offered significant variety at between $10-$15 per person. We did take advantage of the special drink mug, which we figured saved us about $60 in the end. Don't miss the entertainment at the River RoostThe resort's overall environment was very serene, considering the complex was fully booked -- we didn't hear a thing from our neighbors. This location was a wonderful respite from the intensity of the parks and we would happily stay here again.
