“Not a good value or location”

Upon reaching our room, which was driving distance from the checkin desk (too far lug all our stuff) I had to kill 2 roaches. The toilet ran 24 hrs a day. Never got the room cool enough. There were 4 of us. We had 2 wash cloths. To get to the parks we had to drive to the bus stops at the main bldg., and wait for the bus to whichever attraction.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the elevator in the closest building to the food court (where the buses are...

Our family of 3 stayed here during the summer and it was great! The rooms were a bit small, but they were clean and had enough room for us, and it wasn't too loud at night. We stayed in Building 8, one of the Broadway themed-buildings, which was good because it wasn't too close to the "action" (pools and food court) but not too far a walk to get there either.

The food court had enough variety for a meal or two per day, I especially liked the breakfast options! There weren't as many lunch or dinner options, but the food they did have was pretty good.

The pools and arcade were fun, and they have some fun activities throughout the day (hula-hoop contests, pi trading, and you can even get a caricature drawn of yourself right in the hotel!) The gift ship had lots of great Disney souvenirs.

Overall, this is a great resort to stay at if you're on a budget and/or plan on spending most of your trip to Disney World in the parks and Downtown Disney.

I stayed at the Music Resort again this year, I suppose the fact that I went back is praise enough. As always, the place is clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful.

The rooms have had a bit of a makeover recently and now each has a cooler (small fridge) which is a fantastic addition. They have finally provided free Wi Fi, throughout the resort which is fantastic for us Europeans, who would normally get raped by Data Roaming charges.

The resort has numerous pools (two in each, Sports, Music and Film), which are great play areas. The Music resort offers entertainment for the kids in the afternoon / evening, which is a great opportunity to hit the bar, which I don't think is that pricey considering you're in a Disney Resort.
The food court is Ok, but can get very busy at certain times, the food is good and reasonably priced if a little limited in choice.

Certain resort buildings are a little further away from the main reception area than others, but none more than a 2 / 3 minute walk, whilst I've seen complaints about this, the first thing I'd point out is that none are THAT far away, secondly, those towards the edge of the resort do benefit from a slightly more peaceful environment than those at the pool edge.

I had a rental car, which I used daily to get to the Theme Parks, as such I have very limited experience of the free Disney bus transport, however I did try and use it a couple of times to get to Downtown Disney. On every occasion we waited ages for a bus, seeing numerous busses come and go to the other resorts.
In the evening, the lines are usually long and as the bus visits the Sport resort first, it's usually full when it arrives (God knows how the 3rd resort (Film) get on). This can make for a very uncomfortable ride.
This was exactly the same as last couple of years when I was there, so Disney have chosen to do nothing about it, but it should be addressed, I preferred to get a cab.

My last comment will probably be of more relevance to those who intend to predominantly visit the Theme Parks and not hang around the resort too much.
The resort becomes 'a place to sleep' between adventures to the Parks, so give this point some serious thought before booking a more expensive resort.
My personal feelings are that any of my criticisms of this place, are outweighed by the convenience of stopping at a Disney Resort, which I feel is really worth seriously considering paying the slight extra cost for.

Room Tip: As alluded to in the main body of this review, there are films / activities going on until around 11...

Not a "resort" by my definition, the property is a large collective of 3-4 story motel buildings with doors open to the outside. Some rooms are a 3+ minute walk from reception and the park shuttle buses. The rooms are not well ventilated and have a bit of a dank, moldy smell. the room never got cool with the air-conditioning. The room was clean, and a good size, with a small table and chairs in addition to the queen sized bed. The hotel safe is a strange size and shape, which did not fit my computer or iPad.

There are 2 large pools with lifeguards. At the main pool, there are group activities led by hotel staff. In the evenings, they show a movie on a large screen by the main pool. For families with kids of the right ages, the pools and activities are a great amenity.

Breakfast is jam-packed with eager park-goers. The food "park priced". There is an onsite gift shop that has a "quickie market" section where you can buy snacks, cereal, milk, wine, beer, etc. (at a premium price). My room did not have a refrigerator. The property is in a remote location, so to reach offsite restaurants, you need to get a cab, have a car, or take the Disney shuttle buses to get anything besides low "park quality" food.

The Disney shuttle service works well, but takes time and can be crowded during peak times (to the parks in the morning; returning from parks in the evening and traveling out during dinner times). The ride to the parks and Downtown Disney is 20-30 minutes. And watch out, the restaurants in Downtown Disney are often fully reserved, so make reservations before you go or at least 1-2 days in advance to secure a table.

There is no wireless internet service, so do not bother to bring a device that relies on wireless access. The local McDonald's offers free wireless, but you need to drive or take a cab to get there.

If this property fits your budget, an you have a car, it is adequate. Without a car, it feels isolating and expensive. For families with kids who want pool time, it offers some extras with the activities and the movies.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room close to the restaurant and reception, but on the side away from the pool.

Pro's:
Price: Normally, this hotel is a great value - though we booked it at the last minute so we paid a serious premium.
Pool: The pool was really popular with the children, so it was always crowded and lively.
Cafe: The food isn't bad, and isn't too overpriced.
Clean: Enough said.

Con's:
-Location: It's quite far from everything. The bus rides to other areas of the park were about 30-35 minutes long.
- Rooms are now rundown: Our room had lots of wear and tear visible.
- Beds: The beds were horrible. You could feel the springs sticking out. Both my travel-buddy and I had a horrible night's rest and were exhausted the next day.
- Bugs: I'm not 100% sure, but I was covered in bug bites. These don't look like mosquito bites, either. I'm not sure if there were bed bugs, but my paranoia has left me scarred.

Overall: If you just need somewhere to sleep and can't afford anything better, fine. But, I've already booked my next trip back to Disney, and it's just not worth the lack of sleep. You pay too much to get into the parks to waste a day feeling exhausted.

Room Tip: Don't stay in building 7 - it's really really far back. Also, try to get a room on the lower...
