“Great Room, Great Pool!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2012

This was a family trip. We decided last minute to hop in the car and take a ride to Orlando for a couple of days. We got a last minute deal so the hotel price was amazing for The Peabody. We have been to the Memphis Hotel but never actually stayed in the hotel.

When we arrived it was a little confusing on where the entrance to the hotel and main lobby was but a hotel employee noticed we were lost and showed us our way! Check in was quick and easy.

The Bell Hop helped with our bags and the Valet guys helped with the car parking. You can do self parking but apparently it is a long walk . . . long enough that they have a shuttle (long golf cart) to take you to and from the hotel. We chose Valet but it was $20 a day!!!! A Little pricey if you ask me but its The Peabody so I guess it is what it is.

When we arrived in our room it was perfect. The room was spacious and clean with big Queen beds :) The bathroom was nice especially with the TV in the Bathroom Mirror!

We quickly changed in to our swim suits and headed to the pool for some relaxation. The pool was amazing. There were two. We chose the one with the huge waterfall, bar, kids pool, slide and gigantic pool! Our son absolutely LOVED the pool. It is a beach like set up where you can just walk in, no stairs so that was super nice. The pool bar was also pretty good. We had an appetizer and some Adult beverages :)

The next morning we got up and my husband was completely lost . . . there was NO COFFEE POT in the room!!!! I dont think that I have ever been to a hotel without an in room coffee pot! So once we were all dressed we headed to the "coffee bar" place in the middle of the hotel. Of course, EVERYONE was there because they wanted their Mojo! There were only 2 girls working and it TOOK FOREVER! People were ordering breakfasts and frappiccino's. . . .it was forever. We skipped this the next morning due to the insane wait time.

The shops in the hotel were reasonable on somethings and insane for others. Everything in the Peabody is duck related. Even the ash trays in the waiting area of the Valet has duck prints.

The March of Ducks we did the second morning and it was cool. The ducks have to walk much further than the Ducks in Memphis! These ducks RUN too, so if you want to get a picture make sure you have a camera that doesn't pause or take its time to take because you will miss it! The ducks in Memphis waddle slowly so this is what we were expecting but these ducks hall some serious duck butt!

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the view. The pool view is pretty cool! There are rooms with doubl...

I was recently in Orlando for nearly ten days and did some hotel sampling. One of the best experiences we had was at the Peabody. Not only did we get an incredible rate off their website (of around $131) but we had very good service. For one of their economy rate rooms, it was large and sophisticated. It had comfortable beds and free WiFi. The check in was easy, the bellman was helpful and the restaurant that we had breakfast (B--something) was great. The pool was large and beautifully landscaped. It even had a waterslide for kids. There is also a separate lap pool for people that want swim rather than splash about.

Attended McDonald's Worldwide Convention in Orlando and stayed at the Peabody. It's incredibly convenient to the Convention Center. The hotel is very nice with excellent staff. The fitness center is good along with the hotel amenities. Given all of the tourist places in Orlando, it was nice to stay at a hotel, conduct business and not feel out of place.

This was our second trip to the Peabody, both visits centered around a trade show across the street at the convention center. It is extremely convenient for that! We like the physical hotel and the accommodations. In many ways, it is definitely high end, but there are a few things that make it not feel high-end, and thus, not worth the room rate.

One of our party did not have a shower curtain in his room when he checked in. That was fixed in a reasonable amount of time. On our first full day, the maid did not clean our room. We called at 5pm, just before dinner, and let them know. The hotel employee asked if we still wanted the room cleaned, and we of course did. They did come to clean after that.

The check-in experience, as well as any visit to the front desk feels a lot like the corrals in the lobby of Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The wait is entirely too long for anything, and it seems there are never enough people working behind huge front desk.

We stopped in the lounge after dinner on our last night to meet some business associates for drinks. It took at least 15 minutes to get our first round. It took so long that we decided to forego a second round and packed it in for the night.

Our dinner experience at Napa was pretty good, but also pricey for the experience.

We did enjoy our room and the view from it. We appreciated being on a higher floor in the newer tower. I hope that we can return, but I will have a hard time convincing our group.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the newer tower.

Wonderful hotel, other than a cheeky bell boy!!!! staff were really lovely, rooms great size & serviced everyday , amazing pool area & food was fab , a little overpriced maybe but always top standard. My other half was I'll for the whole 10 days we spent there which was very disappointing as we would loved to have really taken advantage of the hotel as a whole & enjoyed all it had to offer. Maybe we might get to return at the end of the year as we are getting married and I would love to honeymoon at The Peabody : )
