We have visited Naples for the last 11 years but this is the first time we have stayed in a hotel. Having seen Inn on Fifth for many years we decided this year to stay on 5th Avenue and experience it for ourselves. We were so disappointed. The rooms are dark and old fashioned with no fridge, noisy air conditioning and not even complimentary water. Our air conditioning unit was so noisy even the maintenance man who came to fix it couldn’t believe we had endured a night of sleep through it. He did change out the unit but it wasn’t much better and we had to turn it off to allow us to sleep at night. Our room as requested (having read trip advisor) was on the third floor looking over fifth. A great view from our balcony except the huge crane which at the moment is dominating 5th Avenue. The hotel failed to tell us when booking that they are doing construction work across the street and the workman start at 7am every morning (except Sunday) which woke us every morning without fail. This work is being carried out by Inn On Fifth. We did complain but were told we would have to wait at least a week to get another room that was a comparable standard to ours. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Great for walking to shops, bars and restaurants. There is no bar area around the pool and one afternoon we had to vacate the pool for over 40 mins whilst the pool men came and cleaned it. We found this very unprofessional that guests would have to get out of the pool in the middle of the afternoon whilst cleaning and chemicals were added. If you want any kind of food whilst at the pool you have to phone to McCabes the Irish bar attached to the hotel and they bring your food to you in carry out style in plastic bags and containers.
We did complain to the management about our stay and after chasing them we did get one nights room rate refunded. Our stay was for 2 weeks.
This has not however put us off visiting Naples as we will be there again in the summer and October. Just staying in a different hotel!

Room Tip: Be careful when requesting a room overlooking fifth due to the construction work going on across the street.

Certainly charming and convenient to Olde Naples, however that's where it ends! One very slow elevator that services all floors including maids with carts, dated rooms that are'nt cleaned particularly well. No breakfast facilities other than next door through a boozy smelling Irish Pub with untrained wait staff and the list goes on. Having said that - it is charming and the front desk staff is very pleasant if slightly uninterested to go beyond the expectable. Also very expensive for overall quality and value.

Without question, the dining, shopping and pretty people center of Naples is Fifth Avenue.

If you want to stay on or near Fifth Avenue, then the Inn on Fifth is the place to stay.

The location is fantastic. The lobby is lovely. The rooms are nice, though not quite as nice as the lobby. The beds are fantastically comfortable. (the bathrooms are ok, but not great; some common areas are a little dated)

There are great restaurants and stores within walking distance (i.e right out the door of the hotel).

A very nice, but not fantastic, hotel.

Great location, nice pool area. We overlooked the building next door so were looking at a brick wall. Didn't know about the discounted breakfast downstairs but there are lots of very nice places to eat and drink. Free WiFi - when it's working. If we went again we would get a room overlooking the pool.

Room Tip: Avoid looking at the brick wall.

Five friends went to Naples to shop and stayed here just for one night. But, we wished we had stayed at least another night. The hotel is located right in the middle of the main avenue, which is 5th Avenue. We got there early and checked in, but the rooms were not ready. However, we stored our luggage and had lunch and they called us to let us know they were ready. The rooms were a nice size, adequately decorated and had a little balcony where you could sit outside. The staff was helpful and friendly. The entry of the hotel is pleasant and well-appointed. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard.
