This is a family friendly restaurant, with the emphasis on the word family. This is not a place for small individual portions, all the items are huge quantities meant for sharing with others. The place is really scenic inside with lots of wonderful old photographs of people, places and occasions. We had a selection of vegetarian items ranging from Aubergine Parmigiani, Pizza, Rissotto. I have tasted better pasta dishes elsewhere, although the pizza and aubergine were good. Risotto was not cooked properly and bland. The Tiramisu portion was excellent, and between 5 of us, we couldn't finish it all and had to take a pack home. The only item that comes in really small portions is the wine by the glass. Overall, the place has a nice ambience, but the quality of the food could be improved.

We decided to try this restaurant again since we had a $15 off a $30 purchase coupon. We hadn't been there in several years since I remembered I wasn't impressed the first time. All the entrees are served family style, so we decided on a large order of the ravioli with meat sauce. Prior to our dinner entree we received some bread (which was not warm) with a plate of mostly balsamic dressing (not good). When our dinner came, it wasn't very hot. All the ravioli was stick together since they didn't put any sauce over the first layer of pasta. We sent it back to be reheated, but wasn't much better. The sauce had absolutely no flavor and seemed to lack all the seasonings that Italian food usually has. We brought home more than half of our dinner and tried adding some cheese, etc. to the dish. It still wasn't anything I would recommend or try again. On a positive note, our server Julio, was very personable and attentive.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times. While it can't compare with the Italian Naples restaurants on Fifth avenue, it used to offer one very good item .... a very good pomodoro marinara sauce. Today we ordered our usual, family style spaghetti marinara and veal parmesan. The three veal cutlets were burned around the under-side edges and the marinara sauce on the veal and spaghetti was terrible ... a dark red color that tasted nothing like the usual sauce. It too had a burned taste. Bring back the former pomodoro marianara....Time for an interior update. It is looking very tired inside.

all the pastas are great but my favorite is the meatballs and spaghetti. The portions are crazy. When the server delivered the salad, we thought another couple was coming. Very friendly servers also.

We went to Buca on a Sunday for an early dinner. We have been to Buca in the past and even had a wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2011. Loved It then. But since then we feel this Buca is in need of renovation , especially the restrooms! While Buca's atmosphere is wonderful with all its decor, some TLC is needed.
As for the food we again were disappointed, as it was tasteless and lacked the flavor we remember. We had a large family meatball/sausages dinner combo. We always eat our leftovers, but sadly ours this time were discarded. :(
I kindly gave this an average rating. More like between a poor and average.
