“Beautiful, luxurious, but watch out for your possessions. Thieves are lurking”
Reviewed 6 May 2012

My company treated us to a fantastic 5 days at this hotel. It was gorgeous, great food, luxurious and decadent. However on the 2nd day, my camera, the only thing of value ($199-$250) left out was stolen when we left the room for a few hours. Hotel staff was less than sympathetic, less than helpful. Repeated requests to speak to a manager went without response. Finally after almost a week a manager called me, after I called the, once again. They turned the case over to their insurance. Insurance adjuster called and another two weeks later, over 1 month since the theft, they deny my claim, stating some archaic Florida law. I'm so angry that my fantastic trip had to take such a sour turn. Thanks fontainbleau.

As discussed, Fontainebleau takes matters of this nature very seriously, and we have thoroughly investigated this incident. Please don’t hesitate to contact Hotel Management directly should you need anything in the future.

It all started with the spectacular service from Michele who checked us in. Even through a recent hire, she was very knowledgable and went out of her way to answer our questions. The restaurants are world-class so you never have to leave the hotel and get a great diversity of food. I can't wait to come back!

Had drinks today for several hours today at La Cote. The atmosphere was awesome. The drinks and ocean breeze made it perfect. We were tended by Karla, Alejandra and Edgy. They were all great and made the afternoon a pleasure.

Our stay at Fountainbleau was amazing as always! Can't find a better hotel- best pool and nightclubs all in the same place. During the day we received fabulous service from a very friendly gentlemen, Jefferson. He was extremely attentive and helpful and catered to our every need. Request him if you are hanging by the pool! Will continue to stay here when head to South Beach & Would definitely recommend staying at FB!

Overall I would both stay again and recommend to others. Yes, it is expensive and you will spend a lot of money, but what did you expect at this level of hotel in Miami Beach?

We live in South Florida, so the short drive to Miami is a super easy weekend getaway.
The room has comfortable beds, modern design, large bathroom, ipod player, and the computer/internet access in the room was a very nice touch. We didn't ask for a specific view (our fault), and got a really crappy view of a garage and air conditioners. We kept the curtains closed the entire weekend.
Overall service was very good and quick in the rooms, restaurants and pool. I was surprised by the number of families and children staying at the hotel. This is definitely a people watching and fun, high energy hotel. The pool area is large, with a separate adult pool that is more like an outdoor nightclub, including a DJ. I was somewhat surprised and disappointed at the low class crowd the adult pool attracted. I assume you don’t have to be a hotel guest to come to this pool, and it showed. We went to a different pool, which was also crowded and you could still hear the music from the other pools, but no DJ and not as loud - I prefer this. Seating looked tough, however, we rented the day big beds each afternoon, which I highly recommend if you will spend an entire day at the pool - they have round ones (no shade) and larger square beds that have a pull back shade. Try to call ahead to reserve.
There are a number of restaurants, bars/clubs inside the hotel, that you don’t need to leave the hotel during your stay if you didn’t want to. There were a few shops, but not a lot. Even if you have a rental car, I would recommend taking a cab to anywhere else in Miami Beach/South Beach area, as it will be cheaper and easier than finding parking or valet elsewhere. Personally, if you have no intentions of going outside the South Beach area then don’t even bother renting a car. The hotel draws huge local crowds as well as guests. Its very much a party hotel rather than a low key relaxing hotel. The restaurants and clubs get packed and Fontainebleau guests DO NOT get preferential entry. If you buy a table/bottle service at LIV then you'll get in easier and have some elbow room once inside. If you don’t get a table/bottle service at LIV then expect to be packed in like sardines. Dance floor is crazy and packed. Expect very long lines to try to get into the clubs and LIV. If this isn’t your idea of fun, then you’ll have a great time just hanging in the lobby area outside LIV where there is a large bar and a ton of people watching. You don't need to go inside the clubs to have fun and people watch.
Dress to impress everywhere from the beach, pool, dinner to clubs. If you’re on a budget, then you’ll probably want to stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a good view - our room was great, but view was a garage and AC units. Try to conf...
