This place is absolutely terrific. We spent last Saturday night at the beautiful outdoor area by the pool and at the Delano's club. We rented a cabana; the staff was polite and attentive; and the crowd was a lot of fun. We didn't want to leave. Best place I've been out in Miami. Go here!

Just returned from a weekend stay (Fri-Sun) that was supposed to be a 30th birthday celebration and will not be returning.

From the gate checkin was a poor start to our short 3 day adventure in beautiful Miami. We were informed our "Ocean View" was overbooked and that they mistakenly gave our room away but not to worry we could stay in a City View. Not that big of a deal until their idea of making up for their mistake was a few free lousy drinks at their not customer friendly bar.

The rooms are beyond small, are in desperate need of some serious remodeling, cleaning service was a joke, windows leaked rain onto the floor, which then made our room smell like a dirty locker room.

Yes, the pool scene is worth checking out but not worth the $600+ per night to stay here.

Overall, there are way too many options availalbe in the same general area that need to be considered before booking a stay at the Delano. The pompous attitude towards guests is played out and not worth the headache.

Room Tip: City view rooms are not well insulated against sound - expect to be awake until 4am when the crowds...

It's my Second stay at Delano. First time was 3-4 years ago when 2 tops of mine where stolen after i forgot them in the room closet + my beige silk boots got dirty (the cleaning lady may have touched them with dirty gloves or something) after a cleaning lady passed to clean the room (they never offered to pay cleaning charges).... anyways i lost 1000$. I called the hotel 6 hours later when i got to destination to tell me that i forgot those 2 tops but they did not find anything.... not complicated... they always know who cleans the rooms... anyways, we won't dramatize....
Here we are couple of years later the same spot...
Lets talk about the POSITIVE things:
-rooms clean
-in general the staff is very nice
-the spot of the hotel is perfect
-food at the hotel restaurants is great
-beautiful swimmingpool
-good internet connection

Lets talk about the NEGATIVE things:
-be more generous please with the towels at the pool: We Need Towels!!!!!
-I-pad was not working in the room to send in room service orders: Make sure Your stuff functions properly
-i ordered the Same breakfast for 5 days at the Same time but each day there was something: one day 30 min late, the second day the yogurt was outdated and the coffee cup was dirty, third day the platter was missing some of the fruits etc etc....... they should make an effort on Consistency!!!!!!!
- a coffee machine in the rooms won't ruin them..... they are capable !!!!
-complementary water bottles won't ruin them either with 500$ the night if not more...
-very few staff members (1 or 2) have an attitude problem.... they forget that they work over there and people who work should be nice and not have an "attitude" thing going on.... if i was the owner those 2 would be out of the hotel pronto.... they actually don't know what a smile is....
-washrooms are small..... i'm 5'5'', 110pounds..... could u imagine how a 6'2'' 220pounds could feel?..... so yes they are small !!!!!
Hope this may help others to take a good decision when staying over there...

If bare bulbs hanging on a wire in the bathroom is your idea of art, or painted concrete floors, with dust bunnies rolling about, or closets the size of a bread box, and not a drawer or cabinet to unpack your clothes is your idea of comfort, this is your place. It is a "boutique" hotel, they will tell you when you inquire as to why there are no amenities. We requested a coffee maker, they reluctantly gave us a 10 dollar little unit begrudgingly, but no coffee to go with it, or cups. They have a decorated garden near the pool but rope it off so you can't use it. Heaven forbid someone would sit on the art. The rooms are tiny, with no balconies, no view, and windows that barely open. It is as if the BS baffles brains syndrome rules, and by charging $540 per night for a tiny room they almost embarrass you into thinking you must be 'cool' and who needs towels by the pool? And if the staff is snotty and arrogant, that is because they too are too 'cool' to be gracious with your request. How about $ 11 for orange juice, or $ 14 dollars for a little box of dry cereal? Or $ 32 for 2 eggs and toast? Go ahead, be a fool, book it. We booked two rooms for nine nights, and left after 2. It cost me over a $ 1000 dollars to move to another hotel, and it was worth it.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms here. They took a 1940's hotel, where rooms were 200 sq. ft and just pai...

I stayed here in March for a couple of days.
From pulling up to the hotel where your greeted by helpful staff and the beautiful entrance everything about this hotel is great.
The lobby in the Delano is something in itself, visitors come just to come and have a look at the famous furniture which includes some Dali pieces.
Check in was an easy process.
The room was beautiful, I have a seaview, huge bed that very comfortable. The iPads in the bedroom are a great touch and the e-services work great - I ordered a few things like toothpaste that came promptly. The white on white decor isnt for everyone but when your in a boiling hot city like Miami it's a refreshing detail.
The bathroom is lovely and spacious with a huge rainfall shower. I quite like the option a bath so that's my only issue.
The Delano has a very distinct smell - an scent they pump all around the hotel that contributes to the chilled out vibe of the place.
The pool area is beautiful and the pool staff are very helpful regularly bringing round complimentary smoothies/fruit/ice cream etc.
I tried out Umi Sushi which is amazing. Not cheap but if you like sushi it's well worth a visit.
I also went to the newly renovated FDR, best to go later I was there about midnight and it was still pretty quiet.
Breakfast is at Bianca restaurant, again very good food and the service is great.
I tried Bianca for dinner too, I can't recommend the grilled octopus enough - it's amazing!
The spa is also well worth a visit - situated on the top of the hotel and there is an amazing deck area which has the best view. I had a massage which was lovely.
Overall an amazing hotel, the location couldn't be any better, the staff are great very attentive, rooms are lovely and the restaurants are great. You just need a pocket full of cash to really enjoy this place.
