I stayed at the Loews in late May/early June. The staff at the hotel is very good. They were under some duress with the unruly crowds that were in town for the Urban Beach weekend.
The hotel is older, the hallways narrow. I was in the tower building. Only two elevators serviced the building and this was not enough.
The workout facilities were good and very well maintained.
The room was small with no view. It was cleaned well and as I mentioned the staff here was very good, too.
The overall atmosphere in the lobby bar and restaurant area was good.
The hotel is just older and seemed expensive for the age of the facility.
Whatever you do, skip this Urban Beach weekend. The entire hotel smelled like a Cheech and Chong movie from all the dope being smoked. Security did their best moving everyone along but numerous persons did not check out on time and arguments at the front desk were the norm as guests were being fined for smoking in their rooms. In addition, there were people literally passed out on the street and doorways within throwing distance of the hotel. This speask more to the crowd than it does to the hotel.
I would vacation elsewhere but if you do choose to come to Miami Beach the staff overcomes some of the physical shortcomings of this older facility.

Very nice hotel with great amenities. The service is spectacular and what you would expect at this price point. There are two areas for improvement. The first is the noise level you can hear from the hallway and from your neighbor's balcony when in your room. The second is the lack of car seats for families to be able to rent when taking a taxi. Other luxury hotels offer this service and one family in our group had to go to another nearby luxury hotel thst graciously allowed them to borrow one when Loews was unable to accommodate. It was also disappointing that the valets didn't have information of either a car service or which taxis did have car seats. Loews touts itself as a family friendly property.

The hotel are still one of the best in miami beach, but not having free wifi in the room, cost is $15,and the parking cost of $40 seems too much for me.an over $300 hotel room shoul not do this to increase profit.the pool was overcrowded this time, too many balls and toys.

This review is a little late as we stayed here for 6 nights during Superbowl XLIV in January, 2010. We won a trip through Nissan so we stayed for free...This place is very clean and quiet, more of a resort than just a plain hotel. The pool is big and clean, and the staff walks around handing out towels and serves complimentary frozen grapes and refreshments...There is security guards by the pool area ensuring that only guests enter the pool area, as it is basically accessible from both the beech and street area. The rooms are a nice size for two people, but if travelling with another couple or children, two rooms would be better....We never ate on site, however there are dozens of eating places within walking pdistance, including this popular, amazing pizza place just down the street, exit the hotel and walk to your right, you can't miss it. There is also a number of restaraunts along Ocean Drive with a number of bars and pubs to keep you busy....shopping is the area is also nice with a number of big and small box stores including a Maceys a few blocks away....
This place is a good choice if you want to be in the centre of the action, and dont have to or want to drive anywhere else in the area. Everything you need is in walking distance, I would definately stay again...

My family and I recently spent a week at the Loews and have stayed at the hotel several times over the years. As usual, the hotel was busy the week of July 4th but we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the hotel location is a selling point but beware, you can spend alot of money at the Loews in a hurry. From the $39 dollar a night valet, pricey food and beach chairs/towels(mentioned on tripadvisor many times before) , cost can get out of hand if you are not careful. However, overall this is a good hotel for people traveling with families.
