I stayed at the Loews in late May/early June. The staff at the hotel is very good. They were under some duress with the unruly crowds that were in town for the Urban Beach weekend.
The hotel is older, the hallways narrow. I was in the tower building. Only two elevators serviced the building and this was not enough.
The workout facilities were good and very well maintained.
The room was small with no view. It was cleaned well and as I mentioned the staff here was very good, too.
The overall atmosphere in the lobby bar and restaurant area was good.
The hotel is just older and seemed expensive for the age of the facility.
Whatever you do, skip this Urban Beach weekend. The entire hotel smelled like a Cheech and Chong movie from all the dope being smoked. Security did their best moving everyone along but numerous persons did not check out on time and arguments at the front desk were the norm as guests were being fined for smoking in their rooms. In addition, there were people literally passed out on the street and doorways within throwing distance of the hotel. This speask more to the crowd than it does to the hotel.
I would vacation elsewhere but if you do choose to come to Miami Beach the staff overcomes some of the physical shortcomings of this older facility.
