The exterior of the building was interesting and the lobby has an attractive deco piece.

The collection on display on the 5th floor was very good and from industrial/modern/deco period.

The satire collection was a small room on the third floor. Good - just so limited.

That was the entire museum - Permanent collection : (

The entry fee of $12 dollars seemed on the high side for such a limited exhibit. But, the money is going In the right direction.

That was what I muttered to myself heading out the doors of this museum a scant hour since I'd arrived. The design section of MoMA has always been my favorite section of that museum, so I'd been looking forward to seeing the Wolfsonian for years, ever since I first heard of its eccentric collection of hundreds of thousands of artifacts. Where are they? While there are some wonderful items on display (the KDKA "triptych" was especially memorable) there just ain't that much to see. And what is on display is often not well explained. A patent model (I presume) of a steam engine was just sitting in a cabinet with no explanation. Curation is amateurish, with items grouped into rooms organized by various themes which are kind of all over the place. Given the museum's physical size, I had expected to spend the day there browsing thousands of fascinating cultural artifacts, but it was really just one floor.

This should be one of the best museums in the country. Instead it's an enormous letdown.

This is my favorite museum ever. It can be visited in a couple of hours, has a small permanent collection on display (most of it is in storage) and proposes great temporary exhibits. They mostly pertain to early 20th Century design, art, architecture and communications.

This museum is right on Washington Avenue and is a good place to visit if you are in the area. It focused on industrial art with some really unusual exhibits to view. Plenty of 20th culture here to appreciate and absorb.

After visiting several museums in Miami we took a stroll here. What a cool building in such a cool area. The permanent exhibit is very nice, displaying the art of industry. From toasters to vacuums, to furniture, you will like what you see and learn from these exhibits. Pay the fee support the arts, and get some culture on South beach.
