I made a short stop at the Red South Beach Hotel in February and certainly was quite surprised. It is a modest boutique hotel in the heart of south beach and right in the middle of everything. The standout for me was the service. It is really that good. As soon as your car stops outside the hotel the attentive staff are there to literally escort you out of your car and assist you with your bags. Check in was also a breeze but the biggest surprise was to come. I had booked a queen suite and was really taken aback when I realized that I had been upgraded to a penthouse suite with a fabulous balcony overlooking the city.
The room was well appointed with flat screen TV, comfortable furnishings and most of all free wireless internet.
The only drawback I could find is parking. This is not unique to hotels in south beach as they open literally on to the street. So unless you can find parking nearby (and most times you cant) you will need to rely on valet parking at about $25.00 per day.
That little inconvenience is easily forgotten since the valets will get your car at a moments notice. They will even pack your luggage in your car for you on check out. So I will certainly give this hotel a thumbs up. It will suit most people and the red art deco theme doesn't hurt either. The service is definitely on par with a five star hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors are far removed from street noise.

Yes, there was an issue with the elevator and yes, the air conditioner was a bit loud in the room, but, the rooms are very clean, the decor quirky and the hotel has a very nice terrace and pool area.

What makes this hotel memorable is the people who work here; everyone goes out of there way to be friendly and helpfull.

A special thanks goes out to Charlie at the front desk and Jerry on the night shift; thanks for intoducibg us to Cuban coffee!

We will surely stay here again.

We stayed at the Red for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. While we thought it was literally across the street from the beach it's still incredibly close. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly; one could not ask more of them. It's comfortable, clean and very well maintained. There is a block of small stores and restaurants less than two blocks away for extras. Otherwise one could just stay and enjoy the beach and the pool.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are bright and comfortable. While there is quite a bit of street noise, the windows keep things quite soundproof. Might be quieter facing away from the pool.

I had read a number of reviews before booking this hotel and I was a little nervous since the reviews were mixed. Our experience was actually very good although we were only there one night. The staff were very helpful at the front desk and the doormen were great at moving our luggage and getting us cabs when needed. We had just come from a cruise and arrived at the hotel around 10:00am - they had a room for us within 30 minutes allowing an early check-in. The pool is small but is fun to sit at and enjoy the sun if you do not want to head for the beach. We did not eat there so I cannot comment on the food. We did enjoy the free drink at happy hour. This hotel is on the northern end of South Beach and is about a $8-10 cab ride to Lincoln Road. For fun we took the bus coming back and it was easy to access and cost $4.

Room - we had a basic queen size bedroom. Bathroom was a normal size and the shower was excellent. We were in 403 on the back of the building. A number of people had mentioned noise in past reviews - that was not an issue for us. The carpets are in need of replacement in the halls and rooms but we did not have any odour in our room as some had mentioned in the past.

Long story short - this is a neat little hotel with bold red and white colours and we really appreciated how helpful and friendly the staff were even though we asked many questions about what to see and where to eat. It met our expectations as to what we needed at a reasonable price.

Hotel was so much more than we expected!! It was a very artistic and romantic setting and everyone from the hotel were so nice even the valet team. The breakfast is delicious and the prices were quite cheap for the quality of the food. We walked to downtown and to the boatshow you seriously don't need a taxi!
