“great location and value”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

The Cadet is a small boutique style hotel in a terrific location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was small but nicely furnished with a comfortable bed, nice decor with extra special touches like flowers on the bedside table and books on the shelves. Nightly service with Evian water and a few chocolates was much appreciated. We also enjoyed the garden and spa area as a relaxing spot to read after long walks on the beach. The hotel is ideally situated unless you want to have a pool and be right on the beach. There are numerous cafes, restaurants and shops within a 10 minute walk, and the beach is only two blocks away. Two negatives: 1) on one of our five nights we could hear the people in the room beside us - really hear them - every word at 3 a.m. - felt like a voyeur! and 2) the small fridge - a real bonus - was not completely clean when we moved in, and dust bunnies were occasionaly visible on the bathroom floor after it was 'cleaned.' Nonetheless, for much less than your typical SoBe hotel, the Cadet offers good value and a great base to enjoy all that the area has to offer.

Room Tip: second floor facing the spa gets you away from street noise, but no elevator don't bring too ma...

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. I have never been to Miami Beach and could not get over the prices for some of the hotels. What is interesting is that many of these hotels are over $200 a night and you are not even on the beach, you have to walk at least a block. This hotel was less than $200 and I only had to walk two blocks to the beach. When we arrived there were grapes waiting for us and a personalized note welcoming us to the hotel. Later on there was chocolate on our bed, a note giving us the weather outlook during our stay, ice in our ice bucket, and bottled water. These are small things that show me that they truly value their customers. There is a very nice Jacuzzi on the property but it closes at 7:00 p.m. because some of the rooms face the Jacuzzi. They also have a nice patio where my friends and I played cards. If you stay here ask for a room that does not face the street, we did not have this issue but my friends faced the street and on a party night it can get loud. There is no pool but who needs it with the gorgeous beach two blocks away. The hotel will provide you with towels and you can rent a beach chair on the beach for $11 (you can have the chair until 5:00 p.m.). This location is within walking distance of lots of stores and restaurants on Lincoln Road and South Beach. The cab ride from Miami International Airport is around 30 minutes and cost $33. All in all, we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose one that does not face the street or Jacuzzi.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel which was close to everything in Miami Beach, nothing wrong with the hotel but we had the worst weather ever. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Ricardo was great receptionist.

Room Tip: I think all rooms were ok although the back is probably the best for quiet.

This is an excellent hotel, with very clean rooms and friendly staff. We stayed about a week in this hotel, and everything was ok. The hotel location is very good. At walking distance of Ocean Drive, and Lincoln Road where you can find a lot of shops (opened late), and a large offer of restaurants.

The hotel has a small but very good hot tub where you can relax.

We did not take breakfast at the hotel as we found that prices were a little high. You can take a very good breakfast at a french bakery (La Provence) situated at two blocks of the hotel (awsome bread and croissants). Turn left and then right when getting out of the hotel.

The hotel is near several bus lines and you can easilly go to downtown and to various shopping malls. For those who want to go to the Dolphin Mall, which is to my point of view one of the best malls in Miami, the easiest way is to take bus 150 to Miami International Airport, and then the Dolphin mall shuttle with departure every hour. Just go upstair from the place the bus left you. The bus 150 has a stop at one block of the hotel on the16th street.

The hotel has free wireless internet access.

Room Tip: We had two types of rooms and they are all clean. Our king room has a shower with steam.

I spent 1 night with a couple of friends and I must say that it´s one of the cutest hotels I´ve ever stayed!
The staff was extremely helpful and really carrying. The rooms smelt really good, and the small touches and gestures made me fall in love with this place. Chocolates, the lil bowl of berries waiting for us when we arrived in our room, etc...
Among all the hotels I stayed during my trip to Miami last year, this was the only one where there was a person who carried our bags (there are no elevators in the hotel).
The only problem was that we were not lucky enough with the room we stayed in because there was a scaffolding blocking our view from the room, so we couldn´t see the street nor even the beach. (I think it was in renovation).
Besides the scaffolding, I really enjoyed this hotel and recommend it... and only one more good thing about it... it´s only one block from the beach!
Hope you enjoy your stay there as much as I did!
