The restaurant is located at the back of a boutique resort on Marco Island. It has a large, covered patio area that faces the beach. If you go there before sunset, request a table on the patio and you'll get a great view of the sunset (weather permitting of course).
After going over the menu, we ordered the prosciutto mozzarella and fior di zucca appetizers. For our entrees, we ordered the branzino, carbonara, raviolini, steak, and mashed potatoes.
The prosciutto plate was pretty big and my kids loved it. The prosciutto was really good and the mozzarella was very fresh. The zucchini flowers were lightly battered and generously stuffed. The dish itself was on the small side though, so it's not really meant for sharing.
With such great appetizers, we were expecting great things from the entrees. We had to wait a while and our waiter came by to let us know that the chef didn't like how our dishes came out the first time and ordered a new set cooked. We were a little disappointed in that we had to wait longer for our meals. At least we were seated at the edge of the patio and had a great view of the beach and the sunset. So we didn't mind waiting at all.
When the food finally came out, it looked amazing! It looked like pieces of art. There were pieces of shaved truffles on some of them. The linguini carbonara was perfectly al dente. 30 seconds either way and the noodles would be over/under cooked. The noodles were shaped into a nest and a semi-raw egg was put in the middle. When the dish was served, our waiter explained to us that we were supposed mixed the egg with the noodles before eating. There were pieces of truffle around the dish as well to enhance the flavor.
The raviolini was perfectly cooked as well. The presentation was quite amazing. The branzino was also perfectly grilled with nice grill marks. It was moist and flaky. The vegetables on top were also nicely sauteed. It was hot and still crispy. The steak was cooked just the way my wife likes it, medium-well and the mashed potatoes were very creamy and well seasoned.
The portion sizes were just right and we finished everything.
Even though there were just 4 of us, they automatically included an 18% gratuity on the check. But with the excellent service and attention we received from the waitstaff, I gave them a little more.
Overall, this was one of the most memorable dinners we had on Marco Island. It was definitely worth it. Watching the sunset on the patio was a nice bonus.
