The restaurant is located at the back of a boutique resort on Marco Island. It has a large, covered patio area that faces the beach. If you go there before sunset, request a table on the patio and you'll get a great view of the sunset (weather permitting of course).

After going over the menu, we ordered the prosciutto mozzarella and fior di zucca appetizers. For our entrees, we ordered the branzino, carbonara, raviolini, steak, and mashed potatoes.

The prosciutto plate was pretty big and my kids loved it. The prosciutto was really good and the mozzarella was very fresh. The zucchini flowers were lightly battered and generously stuffed. The dish itself was on the small side though, so it's not really meant for sharing.

With such great appetizers, we were expecting great things from the entrees. We had to wait a while and our waiter came by to let us know that the chef didn't like how our dishes came out the first time and ordered a new set cooked. We were a little disappointed in that we had to wait longer for our meals. At least we were seated at the edge of the patio and had a great view of the beach and the sunset. So we didn't mind waiting at all.

When the food finally came out, it looked amazing! It looked like pieces of art. There were pieces of shaved truffles on some of them. The linguini carbonara was perfectly al dente. 30 seconds either way and the noodles would be over/under cooked. The noodles were shaped into a nest and a semi-raw egg was put in the middle. When the dish was served, our waiter explained to us that we were supposed mixed the egg with the noodles before eating. There were pieces of truffle around the dish as well to enhance the flavor.

The raviolini was perfectly cooked as well. The presentation was quite amazing. The branzino was also perfectly grilled with nice grill marks. It was moist and flaky. The vegetables on top were also nicely sauteed. It was hot and still crispy. The steak was cooked just the way my wife likes it, medium-well and the mashed potatoes were very creamy and well seasoned.

The portion sizes were just right and we finished everything.

Even though there were just 4 of us, they automatically included an 18% gratuity on the check. But with the excellent service and attention we received from the waitstaff, I gave them a little more.

Overall, this was one of the most memorable dinners we had on Marco Island. It was definitely worth it. Watching the sunset on the patio was a nice bonus.

We enjoyed our meal at Sale E Pepe . Interesting if very confusing decor . It promotes itself as an up market Italian . However all the decor is Parisian including large paintings by Toulouse Lautrec . Not sure if they understand that . The food is very fresh and perfectly presented but not overtly Italian .It is trying to be a little more up market than it actually is perhaps . The staff are very good and efficient by American standards .All the nice tables were left empty and the less well positioned were used first when we were there . Removing a one finished main course before both diners have finished is not indicative of 1st class service though . $260 for the three course dinner for two including a fairly standard bt of Pino and a glass of malt is probably a bit on the high side but nice surroundings and a wonderful view of a fabulous sunset makes it ok . You do get the feeling they think their doing you the favour by letting you dine there . Need to work on the etiquette maybe ?

Wonderful view and great balcony for cocktails. I wouldn’t call the bartenders just bartenders. I love that song I would call them mixologists. They are so precise and put a lot of care and tell making the various drinks. I was very impressed.

We went about 30 minutes ahead of our reservation. They do have a dress code for the formal dining room. They ask for dress pants and a collar shirt. I had a very nice shirt on that did not have a collar and very nice jeans that did not look like jeans and they said I was OK. They also have tables in around the bar area if you prefer not to dress up and come in shorts.

The Branzino (Mediterranean Sea Bass) was very good. We also shared 2 half portions of ravioli and linguini. You can tell the pasta was very fresh and made in the house. Whatever you do, don’t leave without getting the chocolate bar for dessert. All I can say is WOW. Bravo.

We ate here last year and thought it was one of the best Italian restaurants around. However, this year there were 15 of us and half of the party were not happy with our food. I am sorry, but it was a big disappointment- especially because it was very expensive. It was not worth the money.
