We enjoyed our meal at Sale E Pepe . Interesting if very confusing decor . It promotes itself as an up market Italian . However all the decor is Parisian including large paintings by Toulouse Lautrec . Not sure if they understand that . The food is very fresh and perfectly presented but not overtly Italian .It is trying to be a little more up market than it actually is perhaps . The staff are very good and efficient by American standards .All the nice tables were left empty and the less well positioned were used first when we were there . Removing a one finished main course before both diners have finished is not indicative of 1st class service though . $260 for the three course dinner for two including a fairly standard bt of Pino and a glass of malt is probably a bit on the high side but nice surroundings and a wonderful view of a fabulous sunset makes it ok . You do get the feeling they think their doing you the favour by letting you dine there . Need to work on the etiquette maybe ?
