We stayed 4 nights at the Diplomat, 3 nights in 1-bedroom suite #237 because we really liked the quiet location at end of resort with view of sea oats and ocean and then moved for 1 night in studio #225. Both units were very nice and well equipped. Although the resort is older, everything is kept very clean and the units we stayed in were nicely decorated. The rooms were surprising spacious. The bathrooms were functional but had dated pink tile - kind of cool retro look! Beds comfortable. Sheets and bath towels were nice quality. The location is great with gulf front views from each unit.

Room Tip: All rooms good, ones near pool (in center) may be noisier and have less view.

My wife and Granddaughter spent a couple nights in room #246. The hotel is older but very well kept. Room #246 had everything you need for a great vacation. The place is super clean and comfortable. The office staff is helpful and a pleasure to talk to. All the rooms are beachfront and the view can't be beat. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

We loved The Diplomat. We stayed in a first floor unit (227) that walked straight out to the beach. The unit was cleaned everything. It was well stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, and pool noodles. We loved everything about our studio suite. It was quiet and very comfortable. The pool was great. We will be back!

longboat key is a fabulous little town. the traffic is minimal. the beaches are pristine and quiet. the sand is soft and white. great place for a weekend getaway. the diplomat is a small two story condo complex. office staff was pleasant. grounds are kept well. inside of our second story unit was clean and neat. stocked with all kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom items. the beach was literally down the stairs and a few steps away. only two negatives really: the a/c unit is right outside the bedroom window. and it was very very loud. every time it kicked on and off it woke us up. the other is the value.

We love staying at places like The Diplomat. You cannot beat waking up every morning with the ocean just in steps away.

We were in unit 262. The view from our deck was amazing as it overlooked both the pool and the beach/ocean.

Our unit was very clean, the kitchen seemed newly remolded with granite countertops. It had everything we needed and more. The unit had folding chairs and beach umbrellas and we can't say enough about the wonderful people in the office.Very friendly, kind and helpful.

We would stay here again! Perfect location! Thank you for providing such a peaceful and clean home away from home for your guests.
