Staff was friendly and helpful with where to eat nearby. We stayed one night for the swamp cabbage festival. The bed was uncomfortable, the hotel is old but not in the charming historic way, more in the creepy there's no lights, horror movie kind of way. The bed was uncomfortable, the bottom of the bathroom door was rusted out from years of being wet, the tub had chips out of the finish. The sheets had stains. Honestly, I'd say the whole room has noticeably been well used and desperately needs a remodel. All that being said the kicker was that I was awoken by a bug running across my neck at 2 AM...the next morning as we were walking out the door to check out. Myboyfriend abruptly removes his shoe and out jumps a GIANT palmeto bug jumps out! Never again!More
