This hotel was a mini-resort in itself! It had a wonderful swimming pool and hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed the bar to get a drink or appetizer. Miss Kim the bartender was great! The poolside happy hour acts/singers were very entertaining. There were many families with little kids at the pool. The room was very well layed out and updated. The location was accommodating in Marathon between the top of the keys and Key West. We would highly recommend to friends!

Room Tip: Ask for a room to be closer to the pool.

This is a new hotel which seems to be adding another wing. Although there was no construction going on while we were there, the view from our balcony was far from desirable. See photo. I understand the horrific circumstances the Keys faced during the hurricane, but when you book a balcony room, I expect to be told that it faces a construction site.
The hotel room was quite nice as was the pool. There was a bar outside and food was available. Entertainment began around 5 pm and the one night we were at the pool at that time, the singer was excellent. Please note, there is no usable beach at this property. The amount of sea grass at the shoreline prohibits entry into the water. There is a floating dock a bit further out which has a ladder going into the water, but I did not see anyone use it to swim. We were there for two nights. There was also an area with hammocks by the water, but sectioned off from the pool area. I believe it belonged to the hotel as it was in the rear of the parking lot, but I'm not sure. No one stopped me from relaxing there one afternoon. All in all, this is a nice property with good service. I think their description of the amenities are embellished on their website, leading to disappointment upon arrival.

So this property is everything you expect in a vacation - a beautiful property and decor, a gorgeous pool area and bar, and a view onto the gulf that is amazing. Make this your next stay in Marathon!

Our room was spectacular. Large, beautifully decorated, and with plenty of space to spread out. The small balcony was a nice touch!

Breakfast was great and the staff (thanks for taking care of us Danielle!) were superb! They were friendly, engaging, and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. I even talked with one of the servers in the bistro cafe at breakfast. This woman had lost her house in the hurricane, and was STILL 3-4 months away from being able to move back! Unbelievably positive attitude despite all of the persona anguish!

What we liked about our first trip to the Keys is that people are extremely friendly - the natives seem not to mind us tourists, and we tourists are interested in learning more about the natives (when they moved, why the ended up in KW, their favorite bars, seafood restaurants, etc).

We found this same friendliness at the pool bar. Over two nights we talked with dozens of different people, and on the last night almost closed the pool bar. A FEMA contractor from Maine with a gorgeous German Shepherd (HAVOC); a local singer/songwriter originally from the Philly area who was playing for Happy Hour, his girlfriend, and a handful of other folks. Great vibe, hanging out, enjoying the music and weather, and the company of people we'll likely not see again. A great experience made even better by our bartender, Kimberly! HI KIM! You're the best!

We plan to stay here on our next visit, and will bring friends! It will now be on our 'go-to' list for places to stay in the mid-Keys! Thanks for a great visit!

Room Tip: The rooms towards the pool area at the back of the hotel are more scenic than are the ones closer to the Overseas Highway.

Service and amentities are great. Shout out for the marine biologist that is made available to share experiences and educate visitors about the fragile marine life of the Florida Keys. just one of the extras that make the Courtyard in Marathon worth visiting.

Room Tip: Many rooms have excellant views of the Florida Sound

Recently, my teenaged daughters and I arranged a last minute spring trip to the Florida Keys. We had never been before so we wanted to stay in the middle area (Marathon) in order to be able to explore its entirety. This year, finances were somewhat limited but expectations are always pretty high with my family. After hurricane Irma last summer, many options were under construction or still closed. After staying at the fabulous Marriott Courtyard in Oxford, Mississippi I hoped that we could count on a consistent experience and boy was I right. This location is called Blue Waters Resort so the girls are impressed. The rooms were large, clean, all had a balcony, and the hotel is new (2 years old as I write this). It seemed to have escaped the worst of the hurricane with a few landscape issues that were being addressed. The pool and ocean views were absolutely amazing (see photos). Check in was at 4:00 but we arrived at 12. They gave us full access to the pool, pool bar, menu, towels, and an area to change while we waited for check in. I’m a school teacher and was thrilled that we timed our visit with a pool side presentation by a local marine biologist. There was a very nice concierge service poolside who was helpful with recommendations, food was good/solid hotel fare, drinks were delicious, bartender was very friendly and views were stunning. Mostly families stayed here, but it is a small hotel so the pool never felt crowded or loud. They also provided paddle boards and jet skis for rent on site. There was also a small beach with hammocks and chairs - quieter alternative to the pool. Location wise we were minutes from good restaurants and only an hour drive from Key West and Key Largo. I would stay here again and the rates were very appealing for such a quality stay. I’ll end with this: if you have teenage girls, you know that they are picky beyond belief, but my girls were extremely happy with it all. They were hard pressed to find any faults except for the iguanas- who evidently knew how to find a good hotel too!
