Local artists and some touristy items but much nicer than your typical gift shop. Definitely worth stopping by.

When you slam on your brakes to take a picture of the giant lobster on the side of the road...take a minute to wonder back into the shops at Rain Barrel. As others have said, it's a little touristy in front, but in the back you will meet real Keys residents creating real Keys art. The artists are genuinely friendly and helpful, and you are bound to find some kind of treasure to take home.

It was ok. Touristy gift shop in front. Some nice artsy shops. That was what I was hoping for. But got what I expected with the huge lobster out front.

Looking for something to do on a rainy day in the Keys? Try checking out the Rain Barrel for a look at classic Florida tchotchke and knick-knacks. In the rear are some classier (and more expensive) art forms. You might just find a great cheap souvenir, or even the 'perfect gift'. The place provides numerous photo-ops - especially with the giant lobster out front.

Cool arty, eclectic place. Mainly a lot of small shops but some really different stuff. Porta-Potty bathrooms so not real good for that. Not much to it but worth a stop just to take a picture with the giant lobster.
