Rent Kayaks here to go to Indian Key, one mile from shore. The old capital of the Keys which was destroyed via an Indian attack in 1840. The snorkeling and history are amazing!

We went on the 2 hour wave runner tour, and it was a blast! We've never been on a waverunner, but after a quick lesson in basic operation and handling from our guide Frank, we headed off. It took a little bit of time to get used to steering and speed, but what a fun tour! Frank was an excellent guide, took us thru the mangrove tunnels and under the bridge to the open ocean. The water was incredibly clear, it was like flying across a swimming pool! We stopped for a bit of snorkeling out by the Alligator Reef lighthouse. Have never seen so many fish in one place! If you are in The Keys, don't miss this trip! Would highly recommend it! We went back the next day and took a kayak out to Indian Key State Park. This was also a really fun thing to do ( and it was included free in the price of the waverunner tour). We also had a great lunch at the Hungry Tarpon where you can also feed the Tarpon off the dock. All in all a great time, be sure to stop in at the Kayak Shack in Robbie's Marina at Islamorada!

We went on the 2 hour guided tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took care to make sure the group stayed together (we were with another family) and ensured that the same people were not at the back all the time. It was great fun paddling through the mangrove tunnels and seeing the wildlife, unfortunately no manatees for us but that's wildlife. Would highly recommend you use the Kayak Shack if you visit
Great value for money

When reviewing what to do with my teenage boys in the keys I knew they would love riding the jet skis. Robbie's Kayak Shack offered a free half day kayak and free snorkeling with the two hour jet ski tour. Better yet they let us do that over two separate days!! That worked out because we would have been too tired to do both in the same day. The jet ski tour was full out adrenaline and the boys loved it (wife not so much) It was too rough in the ocean so we stayed in the bay which was fine for the jetskis but not too great for the snorkeling. So if you get the chance to go when less windy go then. When kayaking we had planned to visit the two little keys but the staff advised us that we would have much more fun in the mangroves. Great Tip!! The mangroves were very cool even though the Crocs were no where to be found. It is on the top of my list to come back and use this facility in the future!!

I wasn't too excited about this being as I am not a nature person...but my husband and children insisted we try this. When Mitch mentioned crocodiles...I was ready to mad dash it back to the car but I ended up going. It was definitely an experience. It was so much fun once we got the hang of how to actually kayak. We spent about 3-4 hours out on the water. We didn't see any crocs or manatees but the experience itself rocked. Sunscreen and OFF are a definite MUST! Other than that...enjoooooy it!
