“Key West vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2012

I and my wife stayed there there for 4 days over the last weekend in June. The hotel is close to Duval, and overall set in a great location for getting around. The hotel staff is outstanding, great customer service. The pool and happy hour was nice, and the room was clean and plenty of privacy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a trip the Keys.

Room Tip: The rooms are quiet overall, but I'd recommend a room across from the pool.

Just checked out this morning and miss it already. The Almond Tree is in a perfect location on the quieter end of Duval St. A 2 minute bike ride to the southern most point and less than a 10 minute ride to Malory Square or the piers for an excursion. The free continental breakfast and happy hour are more than sufficient. All of the staff were very kind and courteous and made sure you were enjoying your stay. All were knowledgeable of the area and gave great recommendations for food and excursions. Especially Shea who we dealt with the most. This was the perfect getaway for my wife and I, although this place is family friendly as well. Next time we are in Key West I only need to make one phone call for the perfect place to stay and that of course would be to the "Almond Tree Inn"

Charming, clean, spacious, and very friendly as well as helpful
We went to the Keys without a reservation. Based on TA we stopped here. A cancellation. So we stayed 2 nights
Bill (the owner) and Cheryl were really helpful
Bill said in July they are going to be closed for a few weeks for upgrading the facilities.
Nice small pool and garden close tom main street
Nice breakfast and happy hour
Large clean room
We definitely would go back

When we arrived at the Almond Tree Inn, we were initially disappointed that our room was on the first floor, seemingly tucked away from the rest of the hotel and without a private balcony/patio. The lady at reception very kindly offered to move us the next day if we wanted - but, it turned out that we were happy with our room and chose to stay. We were only there for two nights, and because of our lack of time at Key West, we were delighted with our choice of accommodation as far as location is concerned. We aren't the fittest people in the world, but we managed to walk everywhere from the hotel - down a couple of blocks to the Southermost Point, Butterfly Conservatory and Hemmingway House - and up Duval Street (more than a couple of blocks!) to Mallory Square. There is also a CVS and Subway right next to the inn. Our room, a two-queen suite, was very comfortable and spacious. Even the sofa bed was comfortable. As others have said, the bathroom is small - but that was no problem. I think that perhaps they could do away with the old-fashioned hutch which houses the television though! We found all the staff to be friendly and the grounds and pool to be immaculate and beautifully landscaped. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
