“Great location in Key West”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2012

In early June we spent 4 nights at the Almond Tree Inn...best location we could have hoped for... about three doors off Duval Street, right in the middle...Mallory Square at one end and the Southernmost House at the other, plus we were really close to a stop for the Trolley and train, next door to a pharmacy(in case you forgot your sunscreen), close to both fast food places and restaurants, an internet cafe..you name it...perfect...and ....very peaceful location too...once you walk through the gate you're in another world. We spent two nights in a room with a King bed and two nights in a Queen suite (due to late bookings). My husband preferred the suite as it had a desk.I can not fault the staff...exceptionally accommodating, very friendly and efficient...we plan to stay here next time.
We were just a block south of the Hemingway house and lighthouse....in fact the car was just parked for five days and we walked everywhere.

Room Tip: I don't believe there was a fitness center...but the pool was great...swimming and walking shoul...

We were absolutely in love with this place. The location is excellent....close to everything......but when you walk in the gate of the hotel, you feel like you're very secluded. A beautifully landscaped pool/hot tub area, with a waterfall and koi pond. The rooms were lovely, and the staff couldn't have been more accomodating. Happy hour out by the pool, with cheese and crackers type foods, and you get free drink coupons when you check in. Free continental breakfast, again outside by the pool.....a lot of choices. Can't wait to go back!!

This place is one building away from Duval Street, which is where a lot of shops, bars, restaurants, and other attractions are. Additionally, it is on Truman St, which is what Roosevelt / US 1 becomes in Old Town. Parking was very convenient. It was $8 a day, but completely worth it.

My wife and I stayed two nights in a standard queen suite. The room and the grounds were very well maintained.A small pack of cookies and two bottled waters awaited us once we got in our room. The TV was a mid-sized standard definition tube TV, but that did not matter to us. The queen beds were very comfortable. Although the sign next to the pool stated "dawn to dusk", the pool the check-in literature stated is was open 24 hours a day, and I don't think anyone would have stopped us from swimming at any time. The pool was incredibly clean and even a little warm.

We received "VIP" drink cards to get free champagne, wine, or beer during happy hour (5-7). We got more than we could use during our two night stay. They did not have a full liquor bar, but they will make you a mimosa (champagne and orange juice) if wine and beer aren't your thing. Breakfast was served at the same outdoor bar and consisted of a selection of pastries, muffins, bagels, donuts, and fruit. A staff member toasted my French toast, and there were eggs there I'm sure she would have prepared to my liking if I had wanted.

The only complaint I could even attempt to make against this hotel was the wireless Internet. While they did do a good thing by using encryption, the quality was awful. They must just have one wireless access points or terrible Internet service or something. The signal was spotty and everything was slow even when it was connected. I ended up using my 3G smartphone to check e-mail and look up restaurants and attractions.

We shopped around online for hotels for a while before deciding on this one. Given the location, the price really couldn't be beat.

Room Tip: We stayed in a queen suite on the bottom floor. I don't know anything about upstairs rooms or ki...

We recently stayed here over Cinco de Mayo weekend, and we were pleasantly surprised at every turn. Not expecting much from a smaller boutique hotel in Key West, we were quickly taken aback by the friendly staff, extremely clean rooms, helpful management, and 24/7 selection of complementary food at their patio bar. Not to mention, free drink tickets that you can cash in at their bar during happy hour and have a lovely sunset cocktail on the house.

The location is great--just a few yards off Duval Street, and the prices were reasonable. It has a nice pool area that feels like a tropical oasis. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the epicenter of Key West and yet provides an atmosphere of relaxation and detachment to it all. Extra clean bedrooms, lush garden, and convenient parking space. Never too much, never too little. We are absolutely going back many times.
