We stayed in room 106, next to the pool. Although there were families with children in the pool, the sound did not penetrate the room. The room was very comfortable and of sufficient size, although there was not adequate seating. The room was very nicely decorated with sufficient storage space. The pool area has considerable seating in lounge chairs and at tables, with a number of umbrellas to keep on the mid-day sun. The afternoon reception of snacks (which change daily), beer, wine, etc. is very nice after a day treking around Key West. The cold breakfast, also varying by day, is quite sufficient. Service is outstanding, with the reception and office staff ready to do anything to help. The location is a block off Duval, and away from the busiest sections of Duval. There are plenty of good restaurants and other services nearby.

We loved this place and thank you to Tripadvisor for the suggestion.

This hotel is rather pricey but I am always willing to pay more for location. Parking is tight, limited, and over eight dollars a day. Arriving late, we missed the "Happy Hour" but as we checked in the desk clerk offered us a glass of wine and invited us to sit on the patio and gear down. That we did. It was dusk, the weather was wonderful and it was amazing how the immediate hospitality set the stage for a wonderful stay.

As we walked to our room we passed a small waterfall with Koi in a pond and a hot tub with plenty of lounge chairs and large pool. Our room was secluded and had everything we could ask for. We entered through a small white gate to the area of our room. A small bistro table tucked under a stairwell was excellent for night time privacy if one of us decided to sit out for a while.

The room had every convenience and then some. It was very spacious, microwave, fridge, safe. store purchased fudge cookies for a late night snack all greeted us with the usual coffee pot and bottled water. The bathroom was a little tight but it was obvious that every effort had been made to make it less close feeling. After shutting the bathroom door the shower had glass blocks for walls and was well lit. A vanity was in the room with a magnifying mirror and plenty of light. There was one TV an additional TV would have been nice in front of the couch but I am NOT complaining!

Breakfast was included and served at an open bar. It was limited but more than enough to satisfy us. Hard boiled eggs, fruit, with toast and pastries which were toasted while you waited. Plenty of juices, peanut butter, sufficient to make a meal but not cooked to order.

There were many birds and small lizards if you are watchful. As we walked to breakfast the employees were washing the lounge chairs and placing a rolled up towel on each lounge. Everyone smiled and said Good Morning as if they really meant it!

Location, we had asked if there were any areas we needed to avoid and the desk clerk said there was wasn't much, if any, crime. We looked at each other and thought, "not what I heard". But even at 12-00AM and later it felt very safe while we were walking. Even strolling in front of bars and loud areas we never felt uncomfortable.

The next morning we walked literally around the corner to the Conch Train Kiosk and bought tickets for the Conch Train, The Shipwreck Museum and the Hemingway house. The Hotel clerk suggested that we take the trolley but we booked the Conch Train. The Conch Train was narrated the entire time so even as you hop on and hop off for the attractions you are receiving a tour of the city of Key West. There was one free stop on the Train tour that we really enjoyed. I can't say enough about the Shipwreck Museum it was so much fun and informative, good for an entire family. The narrators are in period dress and really go out of their way to accommodate both adults and children. There is a tower with a fantastic view of the gulf. We never had to wait for the next "train" luck maybe? We were told once they would wait if they could but if another "train" came they had to move on to the next stop.

If your priority is location, the Almond Tree Inn is the best and I will be back!!

My husband and I loved this Inn. Our room was across from the pool but was still quiet. We liked being near to Duvall Street and yet the yard was quiet and peaceful. We even made new friends while enjoying the afternoon Happy Hour. We have found a home in Key West.

We decided to take the drive down to the Keys and say for a few days. We loved this Inn. The place was beautiful, relaxing and just what we needed. They are kid friendly but the place was peaceful and quiet the majority of time. Customers keep coming back over the years and you could tell why. They leave the pool towels out in the morning and I don't think we had to ask for a single thing. I guess our only complaint is that the maid did not get to our room one day (they probably need more maids) but to be fair we always came back at 3:00pm for a nap (with the little ones). If we explained this, I'm sure they would have made accommodations. We used the pool quite a bit and though it's not large, we felt like we had it to ourselves most of the time. Nothing beats floating in the pool, looking up at the sky and palm trees or the stars and moon and just letting go and enjoying. We could truly relax and we slept like babies here.

Room Tip: Room 216 is great for families because it has a small area outside that is somewhat private and you can sit out and see the kids/room and still be outside to relax in the evening.

We just returned from a two-night stay. The Inn is small but nicely landscaped. The pool is a good size considering the size of the Inn. However, there is definitely not enough pool seating (but only once we weren't able to secure a lounge chair). The staff was very professional and helpful. Bill and Shea were very accomodating. The breakfast was the perfect start to the day- fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, coffee. Happy Hour was another plus. The bathroom was small and shower needed updating (especially the yucky shower liner). It was our first visit in Key West and we didn't expect to have so many kids staying at the Inn. If you are looking for a kid free environment this is not the place. Overall, we would return for the great value. Truly a gem not far from the action of Duval.

Room Tip: It may be worth it to get a suite, the King room is a bit tight.
