“perfect as always !!!”
Reviewed 17 August 2011

Very nice stay ,as usual, second time in island city house hotel and everything was just perfect .
this hotel is our hidden gem !
very clean, very key west typical, very close to everything (2 blocks from Duval street, ) very beautiful tropical paradise..... (tropical garden just in front of our private balcony) good breakfast , very gentle staff who is always kind to advise you or book something for you.
The best step of rest between the "Duval nights" and the days of activity on the sea !!!!

Room Tip: the garden side is so much better than the street side which is much more noisy

Dear Travel Junkies,

Sorry for taking so long to write a review on this Charming B&B. A little "Victorianesque" and VERY KEY WEST!
I wasn't sure how I'd feel going to a B&B. I guess I had pictured it "old", "creeky" and musty. I must say my sister-in-law and brother-in-law couldn't have picked a better place to go to as a family.

When we arrived and were brought to our room, I was surprised to see how clean and spacious our room was. It actually looks like a (1) Bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and amenities provided (dishes, glasses, bottle opener, full fridge, the list goes on...)

Definitely perfect if you'd like to save some $$$ on your vaca - you can make breakfast in the morning, lunch and of course snacks by the pool while resting before your typical Key West Bar hoping frenzie.

As you can see from their website it is very Caribbean, very Key West in an updated and clean environment. Flat screen TV in the living room with a pool out sofa...hey, you name it - it's there!

It's only a few blocks away from the famous Duval so you're all set! My husband and I just checked today on some dates to go back and unfortunately our new favorite place in the Keys is sold out that weekend!

Hope my review helps all of you! If you've read my previous reviews you'll know that we are avid travelers and have traveled the world. I would never post a good review on a hotel I wouldn't go back to our recommend!

We Loved it....Happy Travels! :)

We absolutely love this B & B. Every time we've traveled to Key West (4x total), we have always stayed here. The location is perfect, the rooms are pristine, and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. We made this our destination for our honeymoon in December, 2009.

We made a last minute decision to drive to Key West for a mini vacation. We were looking for a spacious location near Duval Street and decided on Island City House through a recommendation from a friend and that it still had availability for a spacious king suite - warning though, we are in the "off" season, my understanding is that you would need to book well in advance if coming during peak seasons!

We easily booked the Cigar House King Suite online. Upon arrival, followed the directions to unload our car and check in. We were given a 1st floor king suite in the Cigar House, located right off the pool with a hammock and sitting area on the porch. We fell in love instantly! The suite is beautiful, VERY clean and has wonderful spacious layout! Perfect for our long weekend get-a-way! 1 bedroom, spacious bath, living/kitchen/eating combo separated from the bedroom with pocket doors, which is fantastic to allow for sleeping. Love having the full kitchen, although not really into cooking with such wonderful restaurants in Key West, great for snacks, drinks, coffee etc. We love it so much we decided to stay on an extra day here instead of staying in Miami Beach on the ride back - think its worth doing more of the drive in one day to enjoy paradise a bit longer!

We have easily found parking on the street, but word of caution in Key West parking can be tough - just be patient and willing to circle, something will come up! The staff is very helpful and will provide directions and tips. Love their concierge service, they helped us to select a fantastic sunset cruise and provide a great listing of restaurants to try out!

Only down side is that this is an older location, so as with many of the older homes, the walls are a bit thin - we don't hear anything from the side neighbors, but do get noise from the people above us - if you don't mind the climb - I would recommend the 3rd floor suites (be warned though of the climb!) We prefer the 1st floor due to my husbands limited walking ability and don't find the upstairs noise all that bad. We are right off the pool deck, which is beautiful and lush - great place to hang out and cool off! Love being close to the pool - this is an ideal locatin! Breakfast is served in the courtyard next to our building - great bagels or croissants - fantastic selection with yogurt, danishes etc.

We love it here and think this is a fantastic location and relaxing stay (esp. after the craziness of Duval St.!) We highly recommend the location - really just perfect!

Room Tip: Many of the local restaurants deliver

We stayed in the Arch House room 6, a one bedroom on the second floor, street side. The property was well kept and the staff very friendly and trust worthy. Our room was a little tight on space, but otherwise it had everything we needed. Location wise, the place was great. Only minutes from Duval St. and a grocery store is also close by. The only problem we had was the amount of noise and light present when trying to sleep. The bed was right next to a window and even with the shutters closed, it was very bright. Also, we had to turn the AC on full time to drowned out the sound of the scooters zipping by full throttle all night. The worst by far was the garbage collection at 3AM twice or more a week. The rest of our group in non street side rooms did not have the same problems.

Room Tip: Do not get a street side room.
