Riding motorcycles from Orlando to KeyWest with no agenda...and no reservations, i lucked out!! Motoring through town i happened to notice a wooden no vacancy sign hanging from a post. Visiting some of the many attractions in Key West, we tried to snag an Airbnb but everything was taken (note to self). I remember the Conch house and gave them a call.
Carol is the perfect manager/host. Extremely pleasant, conversational and knowledgeable of the area. I stayed in the small guest house above the pool. There's an element of history and charm in this place. There's a nice little breakfast in the morning so you can enjoy a cup of coffee, a quiche while sitting next to the pool. It's 10-15 minute walking distance from the heart of downtown / duval and front street with plenty to see along the way. Paid a little $300 night. You can park on site. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and I look forward to staying here again some day.More
