We booked a 4-night stay at Dove Creek for our elopement on New Years Day. We wanted to check in on 12-31. When we came to check into the room, there was something wrong with the plumbing. We were switched to another room, but the AC was not functioning. We were then offered the original room, with provisions for a plumber to come fix the issue. We had no choice to take it bc it is now New Year's Eve at 5pm and no other resorts were available! The room was not ready until 9pm! I still needed to get my things ready for my elopement the next morning. The manager, Andrea, told me that she will refund this particular night's stay and if we wanted, we could check out tomorrow and would be refunded a FULL refund. So we stayed the night, got married at 8:30 am, came back at 10am, and checked out by 11am. We both woke with terrible headaches and stuffy noses. When we looked closer to the walls, there was mold in various areas of the room. She apologized and said she will refund us the full amount within 7-10 business days. Here we are... 9 months out and have not received a dime in refund. We have called, sent emails, left messages for Andrea and their general manager, Chris. No one has called back or replied. We will be seeking legal counsel. So in short, do not stay here. The rooms look nice in pics, but they are moldy, have plumbing issues, and AC issues. We have pics to prove the mold they tried to cover with paint too.
