This is not a resort. A couple of mildewed kayaks, a pool in desperate need of refinishing and a few sad bicycles doesn’t make it a resort. My room reeked of a foul citrus smelling cleaner as if they were trying to cover up an odor. There was no room safe as advertised and there was a large hole in the bathroom wall with a raggedy crooked piece of plywood haphazardly screwed in haphazardly. This alone made the bathroom feel like unclean.
The room did have a single cup coffee maker and what looked like well worn furniture (chair, desk, bed table). The towels provided were enough for my stay but were old, worn and pretty non absorbent.
This is an older property struggling to remain relevant. To call it a resort is deceptive, and to charge a daily resort fee is disingenuous. I would not recommend this property.

We booked a 4-night stay at Dove Creek for our elopement on New Years Day. We wanted to check in on 12-31. When we came to check into the room, there was something wrong with the plumbing. We were switched to another room, but the AC was not functioning. We were then offered the original room, with provisions for a plumber to come fix the issue. We had no choice to take it bc it is now New Year's Eve at 5pm and no other resorts were available! The room was not ready until 9pm! I still needed to get my things ready for my elopement the next morning. The manager, Andrea, told me that she will refund this particular night's stay and if we wanted, we could check out tomorrow and would be refunded a FULL refund. So we stayed the night, got married at 8:30 am, came back at 10am, and checked out by 11am. We both woke with terrible headaches and stuffy noses. When we looked closer to the walls, there was mold in various areas of the room. She apologized and said she will refund us the full amount within 7-10 business days. Here we are... 9 months out and have not received a dime in refund. We have called, sent emails, left messages for Andrea and their general manager, Chris. No one has called back or replied. We will be seeking legal counsel. So in short, do not stay here. The rooms look nice in pics, but they are moldy, have plumbing issues, and AC issues. We have pics to prove the mold they tried to cover with paint too.

Room tip: Do not stay here!

Make sure to request a room with an ocean view. Avoid room 300! Had an issue with the ac but thanks to the genuine service provided by a manager named Andrea, we were transferred to a much better room. Great location, amenities near by and amazing view.

Great place for family fun. Previous reviews were not true. Rooms are cozy and clean. One of the best stays we've had in the upper keys. Don't come here expecting the Miami beach vibe. This is a laid back and relaxed property. They do use strong cleaning products to keep the floors and bathroom shiny and clean. Definitely would come back.

Room tip: Traffic is horrible from Miami Thursday thru Sunday.

To start off with the security in this hotel got me creeped. Two times in my 3 day stay strangers were provided a room key to enter my room. Serious security ALERT to anyone visiting this place.

Apart from this the room was smelly, bath tub had some dirt, your flat sheets were worn where it pricked the skin.
The cooking areas had cob webs and was run down. I guess if you spend this kind of money you can find much better places to like in the keys.
