EVERYTHING was perfection! The view, the staff, the feel, even the smell of the room was just incredible.
This is one of those rare accommodation options where it is an entire experience unto itself. From watching dolphins and manatees right from the dock to kayaking, paddle boarding, and enjoying sunset, we never wanted to leave Kona Kai!

From before we arrived the service we received was truly outstanding; we spoke with Kathryn on the phone before getting to Kona Kai and just chatting with her made us all the more excited to get there. Even over the phone, her bubbly, happy personality was contagious and she was ready to help in any way she could.
Upon arrival, we were absolutely blown away by the resort's beauty and tranquility. We stayed in the Waterfront King Suite (Breadfruit) and couldn't fault it. It was a magical experience waking up each morning and being able to see straight out to the water. We even saw dolphins from our room.
I couldn't recommend Kona Kai enough and hope we'll be able to make it back again soon.
Kona Kia is tucked away from the Overseas Highway on the Bayside with beautiful rooms woven through lush tropical botanic gardens. The rooms are Impeccable and prosperity is pristine. Kathryn will greet you upon checking in. She has a wealth of information on places to go and she goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is nothing more then amazing. At Kona Kia you will be astonished at what you’ll see during your morning coffee or enjoying a glass of Prosecco at sunset while sitting on the dock of the bay. I’ve attached a photo of our mascots Kona and Kia. My wife and I can’t wait to return for our next treatment.
Very safe & clean. Great views of sunset. We were comfortable here as it was relaxing. Office staff very nice and helpful. Felt it was somewhat pricy compared to other places with comparable amenities and didn’t get any recognition for celebrating our anniversary. We would definitely visit again (if we can afford it).
If you’re looking for a low-key, beautiful escape to the Keys, this is your place! The staff is BEYOND friendly and super helpful. Some of the best hospitality I’ve ever received. The site itself is a beautiful set of beachy bungalows all decorated with a classic style from days gone by. There is a nice pool and hot tub with plenty of spots for sun bathing. Beach area with kayaks and other water gear available for use at no additional cost. While kayaking out on the water, we saw a baby stingray, plenty of fish and sea urchins, and even a momma manatee with her baby.
All of the suites are complete with kitchen and seating areas. The bathrooms appear to be newly renovated and fully stocked with toiletries and such. There is WIFI available and streaming services available on the TVs. And they even had fresh locally picked starfruit available!
Loved this place and will definitely be back!
We stepped into a world of relaxed elegance when we arrived at Kona Kai Resort. Kona Kai exceeded all expectations with its breathtaking bayside views, tropical gardens, and the staff’s impeccable attention to the guest experience. It is our favorite escape and self-pampering. You can’t help but slow down, take a deep breath, and embrace the Florida Keys. We highly recommend a visit for couples looking for the ultimate retreat.
