“Outstanding Value!”

Stayed entire month of February. Great location on the water and our neighbors were all very friendly. Couldn't ask for a better setting and you won't find a better price in all of Key Largo. We especially enjoyed the paved walking/biking trail along Route 1 in Key Largo. Fishing from the front yard/beach was convenient and relaxing. BBQ grill with accessories was a nice touch. If you enjoy fishing, take a boating excursion. The fish you catch will be filleted and you can take them to nearly any restaurant to have prepared several ways. Also, there are several restaurants that have Friday all-the-fish-you-can-eat specials at reasonable prices. Enjoyed day trip to Key West, Everglades National Park, Biscayne Bay, Homestead fruit & vegetable stands, and watching dolphin during sunset at Gilberts. Oh -- and Nester was Great!

“Great location for the money”
Reviewed 5 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Stayed the whole month of Jan. Great location and great view from property. Could not get more unless you spent a lot more money. Caught all sorts of fish from the bank. Being gated is great, makes things private. Met great neighboring guest , great source of info since most were returning guest. Great spot to hike and see Manatee is at MM 116.7. Turn at bridge, go to weir, lots of wildlife including Gators, Crocs and Manatee. Good fishing but will need license.

Management Response

Thank You for Charles for your comments.

Will certainly share all the wildlife opportunities at the irrigation canal Four (4) Miles North of the Property.

I do often stop there, as it is so peaceful and serene.....it does bring me back into perspective of what a wonderful place the Florida Keys are.

“A Little Piece of Paradise at an Amazing Price!”

We stayed at Pelican Harbour for two weeks over the winter holidays and had a wonderful time! The weather, although a bit breezy during our stay, was a welcomed change from the 30's and 40's we are used to this time of year. We had perfect temperatures in Key Largo from the mid 70's to the mid 80's...in late December! Our time was primarily spent relaxing around the property (fishing, cooking, reading, playing board games, sunning, kayaking), and exploring the surrounding area. Everything at Pelican Harbour is just as neat and tidy as it can be. Nestor and his wife (the owners/ caretakers) are very hospitable, professional, and readily available to answer any questions or take care of anything you might need done around the property while you are there. We had no problems or issues at all with anything. Everything worked perfectly and the space was quiet, cozy, and relaxing. We were literally right at the water's edge for less than $100 a night!! I can't imagine anyone not feeling like they TOTALLY got their money's worth from a stay at Pelican Harbour! Unfortunately, we didn't get to sampler Anne's crab platter, as they were out of town while we were there. However, we did have some really nice meals and found fresh seafood readily available (as would be expected). We also had a fish fry of our own from what we caught while fishing right from the lounge chairs at Pelican Harbour! The grill (which we also used and worked fine) has a separate burner that is great for frying fish outside.

We didn't get to try all the spots around Key Largo, but some of our favorites from what we did experience were:
Alabama Jacks (conch fritters, crowd watching, feed the fish)
Denny's Latin Cafe (great coffee & Latin food)
Lucy's (German Food - get the pickles appetizer)
The Fish House - Eat here and then take home smoked fish and enjoy with a glass of rose at
sunset. They also have fresh seafood to take home - catches of the day.
Gilberts (HUGE - close by, on the water. Good place to watch the game and have a beer)
John Pennekamp Park - Rent kayaks and go at your own pace through the mangroves.
Blond Giraffe - Key Lime Pie (YUM!)
Ballyhoos Historic Seafood Grill
Sundowner's - Outdoor dining

Would definitely return and recommend Pelican Harbour to anyone looking for a unique place on a budget that doesn't seem like one.

We thought we would try something different and we were so glad we did. The place had everything that we needed. Being on the water was great. Nestor took care of all our concerns. We are already planning our next trip down. We had a terrific time. Thanks

This was a great location for the beginning of our trip. We wanted to visit the Everglades and didn't want to stay on the mainland. Nestor was wonderful to work with and really nice. He is attentive to the property and his guests. The community was quiet and the pool was great for end of day swim. Rental kayaks available on Key Largo and plenty of restaurants and attractions on Key Largo. Affordable.
