2 night stop with my wife.
Reception was fine.
Hotel is located just of the '1' Our room was on the back side and at the far end. Possible traffic noise from front side? Not sure.
Room was a good size, with a very small balcony. 1 King bed. Wireless worked OK.
At the back of the hotel there is a small private beach. Some imported sand, but not much. Very nice area to laze around in though. There is also a side creek. Several guests saw a Mannate on a couple of occasions. Unfortunatly we missed it, but quite a lot of bird life, and the beach is west facing, so a lovely sunset.
Stones throw away from John Pennekamp state park - canoeing, snorkelling, diving etc.
Good buffet breakfast is included.
Good size pool, but did not use it.

Ate at 'The Fish House' 5 minutes walk north on opposite side of Hwy 1. Would highly recommend this. I had the Fish combo, and it was the best meal I had in 3 weeks in Florida.
Other night ate at Hobo's, 10 min walk South on 1. OK, fairly typical American eating house.

Summary.
Probably not somewhere to stay for more than 3 or 4 days. Too far from Key West, and a long way from Everglades too, so really just the couple of state parks locally. But as I said earlier, the 'Beach' area is very pleasent, and I could have cheerfully spent the entire day relaxing there.

Room Tip: Suggest you ask for a quiet room at the back, or at least away from the Highway.

This was a very nice Hampton inn, stayed one night while traveling in the Keys. We loved the pretty setting and large rooms. We had a garden view room which overlooked the garden surrounding the parking lot. Pool was great but the best part was seeing manatees in the bay. Breakfast was plentiful. Friendly, welcoming staff. I would recommend staying at this hotel while in Key Largo. Very nice!

Our voices join the throng of positive reviews of the\is property. The room (#202) was immaculately, sparklingly clean and large, with a king-sized bed, a sofa, a desk, a wet bar area, a fridge/microwave, and a king-sized bed. Lots of positives! A large breakfast buffet included in the price--1 hot egg dish (although the scrambled eggs were rather grainy and not my favorite) and 1 hot meat selection (bacon, turkey sausage links) each morning, along with baked goods, fresh fruit, instant and pre-made oatmeal (!), cook-it-yourself waffles, and several options for coffee. That alone probably saved us $15-20/day! Staff were always very upbeat and eager to be helpful. The current day and next 2 days' forecasts were available each morning at the desk, as was the current water temp. Beach towels were available at the desk--just ask. A suitcase rack was provided to keep the luggage off the floor (bedbug fears were unfounded!). The bed had 4 pillows; since my husband is allergic to feathers, we were happy to find 2 that were clearly polyester--and soft but not too soft. The lightweight duvet draped nicely and provided a lovely alternative to the typical hotel blanket.

Only a few minor negatives. The AC, controlled by a convenient wall thermostat, was noisy; we had to turn the TV up to hear when it came on. The cool air couldn't be directed, as far as we could figure out, and it blew on the bed across the room. We put a chair and one of the sofa cushions in front of the vents, to keep it off us. The shower (only a large shower stall--no tub) had a tiled floor that was lovely but was quite slippery when wet. It had no sliding door or shower curtain; instead, it had a floor-to-ceiling glass panel covering only half of the stall. The remainder was completely open and the floor got quite wet. (The floor of the bathroom was the same smooth tile, so it got a bit slippery too.) Since you couldn't reach in from outside the stall to turn the water from spigot to the shower, you got a quick hit of cold water when the water first came out of the showerhead. (The showerhead was mounted high, which my 6'3" husband greatly appreciated.) The bathroom had little counter space, so we had to keep our bathroom stuff outside; the wet bar and counter between the fridge and the microwave worked okay. There were also few places to hang wet towels, so we had to leave some on the floor. Two computers were available in the lobby for quick use or confirming airline reservations--1 PC and 1 Apple. The PC wasn't connected to a printer (although the printer options made it seem that it was), which I didn't realize until I was ready to print our boarding passes. However, the staff person at the desk came right over and helped me get started on the Apple (which WAS connected to the printer). The White Ibis that frequented the bar/beach area were less intrusive and "pushy" than many Rock Pigeons or gulls in similar situations. But as a wildlife rehabber, I was a bit uneasy with folks feeding these lovely birds who knows what. But that's my issue, not a reflection on the hotel. ;-)

All in all, we had a great 4 nights at this hotel--a real value for the price. We chose this hotel thanks to the many positive reviews on TA--and they were really on the mark!

Pleasantly surprised by size of room and facilities - microwave, fridge and coffee making facilities. Bathroom was one big wet room and had ample space. Impressive for quite a reasonable price for the keys. Fitness room was pretty good and there are free earphones to use at your leisure and individual TVs on each piece of equipment - you dont always get this at each hotel we have stayed at. Pool was in a nice spot and heated and the tiki bar overlooks the water. Breakfast was also good value for money and included in price - cant grumble - we cooked our own waffles and they even had decent tea bags - a must for the Brits abroad. Overall pretty impressed and much better than Holiday Inn Express that we stayed at in Marathon.

Room Tip: Ask for room on 1st floor - so get balcony

I almost do not want to write this review because I do not want to increase the chances of this property being overbooked in the future. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because of the busy traffic (there were 2 accidents in 2 days in front of the hotel) expected out front. Everything from the rooms, breakfast to the receptionists was outstanding. It has an extremely peaceful bayside beach that makes sunset watching a pleasure. The rates are reasonable for this area in the winter, however, you will get the room you reserved, even if others are available. So if you take a handicap room to save a few bucks, they will not move you to another room, even if available. The rooms are especially spacious, clean and well furnished. A large breakfast area assures the traveler of a seat even when crowded-very uncommon in today's mid range hotels.
