It is absolutely beautiful and modern hotel in great location with a beach access. The rooftop bar and pool adds fun to it. The one and only issue we had with was the service. The staff seem to be nice and polite but nothing was done right (lack of training?). e.g., we had to request 3 days in a row our room to be cleaned. Valley car service (additional $35 per day) is great but the car was never pulled when we requested by calling from the room. Happy hour at Cielo bar was a mess, we'd be charged full price for drinks that were supposed to be discounted. This hotel has a great potential but it just needs to put everything together and get proper management. We would love to come back but the service needs to be fixed.

We just returned from a week at this hotel and are still reeling over the lack of basic guest services provided to us - primarily due to lack of hotel staff and poor management.

We were told at check-in that Costa is an "eco-friendly" hotel that does not provide daily cleaning service but if we needed housekeeping, all we needed to do was call. Housekeeping did not answer when we called repeatedly. We asked for our room to be cleaned on Day Two and it took two days to make that happen. Throughout the week, we had to hunt down clean towels and toilet paper. By the middle of the week, we grabbed beach towels from the pool area and accepted a roll of toilet paper from the manager's office.

Other services were also problematic. WiFi was down on our first day, and the television in the room was not working for two days. The toilet was backed up twice. We did not seeing anyone cleaning the common areas either. The hallway carpet was not vacuumed the whole week we were there, and it was full of sand that blew into our room and created a film on the tile floors.

Costa Hollywood Beach claims to be a beach resort and proudly provides wrist bands for complimentary beach chairs. However, we learned on our first day at the beach, that the hotel does not provide guest services at the beach, including beach towels. The chairs are part of the Hollywood beach service, and we were responsible for bringing our own towels (which were hard to come by!) to the beach.

The one and only team that seemed to be somewhat competent was the valet parking team. However, on the weekend, even they were short-staffed.

We recognize this hotel has only been open 2-3 months and still has to iron out its kinks. Many of the glowing reviews were written before the holidays, new year's and the bowl games, when occupancy was still small in number and special offers were made to bring guests into the hotel. When we checked in a few days before New Year's, we were told the hotel was going to be at full capacity. However, we are certain that staffing was not. Maintaining a proper guest to staff ratio is basic hospitality management and should be Costa's number one priority. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop pool area and great potential, but they are not ready for prime time yet.

Stayes 5 nights at the hotel.
Things we liked:
Fairly large room.
Nice pool area.
Comfy bed.
Bagel and coffee included.

Things we didn’t like:

The sofa bed is not really usable. There were no rollaway beds.
No house keeping unless requested. This puts the burden on the client.
No coffee maker/toaster - which should be basic at a hotel aiming this high. The kitchen was not equipped for cooking a meal.
Elevators were slow. Getting from the room in the north building to the pool on top of the south building was a hassle.
The staff at the café spoke poor English. Service was slow/bad attitude.
Roof top bar: extremely under staffed, music was pretty loud.

On two separate occasions two guests were flying two drones (!) off the pool area. The pool area was full of people and the staff did nothing about it. This made us feel very unsafe.

The food at bar was mediocre.

We really wanted to like this hotel, but sadly it didn’t meet our expectations.

We checked in here for one night and the hotel exceeded our expectations

Have seen a lot of Florida over the years but not seen much of Hollywood. We will return to see more and my guess is we will stay at this hotel.

Nice location , spacious nice quality with a modern fun decor and great service. Dinner at gg’s opposite very nice.

The beach reminds me of Venice beach Naples years ago before it lost its charm .

The one criticism of this hotel would be that the breakfast in the local coffee shop was a little basic but no complaints.

Within 30 min of arrival I already have had such a bad experience.

First, be aware of the hidden charge of REQUIRED valet parking of $35 PER NIGHT. This is on top of your expensive nightly fee. Of course they won't make that clear when you book the room.

Somehow 2 separate front desk clerks skipped right over and called to 2 separate guests behind me. That irritated me even more.

After finally getting checked in the bellhop refused to let me use the baggage cart to bring my bags upstairs, even when I assured him I would return it immediately. He insisted on helping me. Look I get it, you're searching for tips. But I personally like to take care of my own bags, and his excuse that he needed it for someone else was supposed to what? Reassure me that another customer was more important than me?

No thanks, never again. I get better service from a $150 Marriott or Hilton hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. It was very disappointing to read about the shortcomings you encountered, more specifically the wait time during your arrival, how you were skipped over when it was your turn, and our bellmen not being receptive to your specific requests. Please accept our sincere apologies as this is not what we are about. We have personally shared these comments with our respective teams to ensure this does not repeat itself. We would like to personally connect with you to further make things right. We would politely request that you reach out to us at 954-613-3713 so we can discuss what that looks like. Thank you in advance for the opportunity to turn things around even if they are after the fact. We do hope you will give us another chance in the future.
