The cottage was adorable and the special touches were too sweet! New coffee with fresh cream, bottled water and fresh cookies- so nice! Both Roger and Michele were so kind and helpful. They offered suggestions which were great to do and visit!!!

Wonderful experience. Roger and Michael are excellent hosts. Extremely friendly, respectful of privacy. Accommodating. The cottage is clean, cozy and set quiet in a quaint neighborhood two blocks from restaurants and shops. Will definitely return and highly recommend a stay here!

“3 days in paradise”

We absolutely loved Gulfport. Roger and Michael were friendly, informative and thought of everything. There was a bottle of wine, pound of coffee with cookies and half & half waiting for our arrival. The cottage is romantic and comfortable with a great shower. Hard to believe so much could be fit in so well in a small space. The only recommendation we have is to install a dehumidifier. The Florida humidity kept our towels from fully drying out between uses. We will definitely return to Blue Arbors and the wonderful hospitality of the owners.

Humidity can certainly be an issue down here, especially those times of the year when the heat or air conditioning is not being used and the windows are left open. But we are always happy to provide guests with fresh towels whenever they want.

“Terrible bed mattress”

The bed mattress was very uncomfortable and had no softness. Sleeping more than a few hours became impossible and I left after 2 nights even though I had booked and paid for 5 nights.

Management Response

This guest is welcome to his opinion; I understand that different people have different tastes in mattresses. But we have a good quality mattress in the cottage (Simmons Beautyrest pillow-top) that has been in use for less than 3 years. Many guests have commented on how comfortable it is. One couple even contacted us after they left to find out what kind of mattress it was so they could get one for themselves. I'm sorry this guest had a bad experience, but we have done our best to provide our guests with excellent sleeping conditions.

“Welcoming, private, great attention to detail”

Blue Arbor Cottage is a cozy spot for two (or for a solitary traveler). One large room, beautifully furnished with a king-size bed, nice looking carpets, original artworks on the walls. You enter from the street and walk through a garden, sheltered by trees. Have your morning coffee on the front porch. Pretty much all the comforts of home on a small scale. The only thing missing would be a kitchen sink - so don't plan on doing much cooking. There are a microwave and fridge and enough dishes, glasses and silverware for two or an additional guest or two. But who needs to cook, when you're walking distance from all the restaurants on Gulfport's main strip (a block or two away, and two blocks down to the water's edge). The "Casino" (no gambling) is the historic waterfront building, where they have lots of activities you can sign up for, morning yoga, contra dance and ballroom dance; art shows, and a hot destination for weddings! YESSS! LGBT nuptials are finally possible in the State of Florida, and folks are celebrating, Happily.

The hosts are welcoming and attentive but not hovering. You can truly keep your privacy. Nice touches: delicious cookies were waiting for us on the kitchen counter, and a bag of fresh ground coffee to get us started in the morning, plus a nice bottle of wine for a welcome toast. I appreciate these gestures of hospitality.

Clean, pleasant bathroom, shower big enough for two, all beautifully designed. We were comfortable and rested during our stay here.
