Go for one of the butterfly releases! I am a grown adult but was swept away by the gorgeous rainforest/butterfly garden. First, I must say this is one of the best butterfly gardens I have ever been to (I have been to several across the country, in New Orleans, Ft. Myers, etc). It has an incredible variety or butterflies and there were lots of them. I highly recommend a visit here. The only down side is that it was difficult to hear the lecture given on the butterflies -- the volume on the guide's microphone was too low and the sound was not clear. Still, I would go again! It is a magical place.

For a relaxing time in a beautiful setting visit the butterfly rainforest. Of course you expect gorgeous butterflies of all colors of the rainbow, different shapes and sizes and even a few moths sleeping the day away. But the plants!! From subtle changes in shades of green to bright exotic blooms be prepared to enjoy a changing scene around every corner. And in December watch for the appearance of fields of poinsettia to join in the holiday experience. There is something for every member of your family to enjoy in the butterfly rainforest!

This wonderful rainforest is a highlight for Gainesville residents and visitors alike. The facility is well maintained and designed to shelter fragile and exotic butterflies and have them on display in a safe and nurturing environment. The rainforest is great for all ages and for groups and is ADA compliant. Several times during the day, butterflies are rotated in and out with new food being put out for them. The staff is helpful and ready to answer questions. I have enjoyed this on my own and with my elderly mother. Love it.
