“What a fun town”
Reviewed 19 August 2010

My wife and I went to Ft Lauderdale in early July 2010, and really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel district is set up with all the hotels across the main blvd, with the public beach across the street. The strip is full of excellent bars and restaurants to cool off and refresh at while you're sunning during the day. Those same bars and restaurants have great nightlife for when the sun goes down. We were down there for a bit of business and vacation, but would love to go back strictly for vacation as soon as possible. I would highly recommend this to people who are looking for fun in the sun.

This was our 1st time in Fort Lauderdale its very nice the water at the beach very clear, cleaner compared to Miami Beach different crowd too we stayed at the W hotel so beach right across the street very nice hotel would def recommend this hotel. We tried a couple of restaurants in the area good but more options in Miami, stay away from this place called flavors from italy its horrible the pizza was very bad imagine how the entrees would be, we went to this beach plaza across from las olas beach they have this rest called Da big kahuna food was good staff very friendly, also try Galanga good Thai/ sushi if you stay at the W or nearby theres a starbucks at the westin or theres a cafe at the hilton that sells starbucks also. We really enjoyed being in Fort Lauderdale.

“Sport Fishing Ft Lauderdale on the Lady Pamella ll”
Reviewed 26 July 2010

7/21/2010 Do not encourage people to go fishing in rough seas,
To start out fifteen paying customers and four crew on a sport fisher is just too many people does not make any dollar sense to me To say the least capt Eric and his crew were more interested in their drinking than fishing, too many people on the boat not enough room and way too much beer drinking by the crew To top it off the worst fishing ever, maybe six fish caught for the entire boat ,all very small yellow tail snapper and one mangrove,we stayed in one place the entire trip I do not recommend this charter service to anyone Hey I'm an avid fisherman whom has his own boat and I know weather conditions play a big part in catching fish along with many other factors but when you mix alcohol and rough seas your looking for disaster Oh yea by the way I don't think any of those first time fisherman whom happen to be children will ever want to go out on a fishing charter again great job Capt Eric

“Wanna go Back!!!”
Reviewed 22 July 2010

It was to see our grandbabies we had not seen in 9 months. We needed to go to them and we chose Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Beach Plaza 3 Palms Hotel. We had never been there. We took the whole family (16) and the other 6 grandchildren .We stayed across the street from the beach. It was beautiful, sunny, peaceful, hot, crazy, but wonderful. At night the strip of restaruants ,hotels and shops are jamming with every style of music.
But the hotel we stayed in was terrible. Wall unit airconditioners were not working, but we moved rooms till we didn't want to anymore. The office is badly kept, it smelled bad. The girl in training didn't smile. Now ,the only guy that was there was very accomodating. Apologyized alot but never got angry. The cleaning ladies are so nice and do the best with what they are given. Good job ladies !!!
The hotel could be awsome if the owners would keep it up. It's falling apart. It is a very old place. But cute. We made the best of it ,being humble about everything that went wrong and had the best time. The price was cheap, but I've stayed in hotels that were expensive and were dumps. So don't turn away from cheap. If they fix the hotel ,we would love to stay there every time. It is in the best spot . Could be a charming little hotel. Still ,we all wanna go back soon.

“Surprise, FT Lauderdale revisited !”
Reviewed 21 July 2010

My husband and I have been to Ft. Lauderdale many times, usually in our 40 ft RV and usually all we saw was the "cut" area, where the cruise ships leave the port to head out into the ocean. There's a huge beach area there and we would pretty much just admire the view and occasionally visit a restaurant nearby.
This time was totally awesome. I visited my niece and her guy for a weekend and I saw a Fort Lauderdale from a totally new perspective and I fell in love with the city all over again. We started with a sunset river taxi cruise, which is narrated and gives you all the interesting facts on who lives in what mansion and you see and get to learn intimate details about the absolutely huge private yachts that line the waterfront. It is well worth the $7./head ticket. There are 17or more stops on the Taxi route, but we took it down to the "beach front area" and walked for miles past the best and worse places to eat, drink, seen and be seen. It's just crazy, but in a nice way. The food (we ate in a very nice Greek restaurant that night) was fabulous. The choices are endless.
The city is very clean, there are public buses ($1.25 p/p) and trolleys( free I think) to get around on and the city seems very safe and well lit. Even in July, there was a strong breeze blowing in from the ocean, which kept everyone cool enough to enjoy the night. It was a pleasant surprise and I wouldn't hesitate to go back for more !
