A neighborhood institution for traditional Japanese cuisine in Colee Hammock (downtown Fort Lauderdale) Sushi Rock has been around for decades. Reasonably priced. Small and quaint, with remnants of its former blacklight decor days, the service is cordial, but more significantly the sushi and sashimi ate fresh! Recommend the uzuzukuri (heavenly thin sliced sashimi) or the chirashi dishes. Sushi rolls are very good - with some Caribbean themed/Local variations that include conch, soft shell crab, shrimp, and yellow-tail. Good vegetarian selection. Noodle dishes superb. Small but good selection of sake, beer, and wine. There may be a wait especially on weekends - but consider may be the only decent Japanese restaurant on Las Olas!

Sushi Rock occupies a small and simple space on Las Olas but it turns out the best sushi rolls in Ft. Lauderdale. Some of my favorites include The Big Bopper, Wallflowers, Blondie and Red Hot Chili Peppers. The theme is rock and pop music but you probably picked up on that.
Go early if you want to get a seat but be prepared to wait. And don't worry, it's worth the wait.

Been going to sushi rock for the past decade. It's a nice place for sushi and some different fryed rolls. I love the "rock n roll". Service is quick and they are always open!

Great typical sushi place located on E Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Fresh fish, great sashimi and equally delicious rolls. Prices were about average for sushi and the menu is varied and has a lot to offer. The restaurant has a 90's vibe to it. The waitresses were wearing Nirvana/Chili pepper t-shirts and the music was locked on a 90's station. I don't know if it's like this all the time but it did add a dash of fun to your typical purple neon lighted sushi places I've been to.

Came here on a week night with no reservations. Small place, no wait. We had the sushi boat which was very good and some sauvignon blanc. Overall good experience. Good service.
