We booked this hotel for two nights, a Friday and Saturday prior to our cruise. We used the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Yes, the lobby is small but we did not spend time there. The elevator was near the check in which was efficient. The room was nicely decorated with pleasant colors. The bathroom was very small. The bed was especially comfortable. The AC was a bit noisy when it went on but it did not interrupt our sleep. Pool area is lovely and clean. Good gym. Did not eat there. We took the bus to Las Olas Blvd. for 75 cents each. Lots of shops and restaurants there. Ate at INDIGO twice in one day it was so good and reasonably priced. We also had a good meal at a Greek restaurant on the blvd. We rode the water taxi for over 2 hours. We boarded at stop number nine off Las Olas Blvd. The taxi ride to the pier cost us a bit more because the entrance to the port near the hotel was closed off. I felt the cost of the hotel was a bit high...nearly $250 a night for a king room.

Room Tip: Our room had already been selected by the hotel. It was a city view.

This is a clean hotel with enough amenities to keep you satisfied for 1 or 2 nights. Friendly service, convenient transfer service to the cruise port and moderately priced accomodations. Just a 10 minute cab ride to most attractions in the area too!

Room Tip: Chose a romm from the 6th floor up on pool side to hav a good view of the cruise port.

Based on so many positive reviews from other cruisers, we booked here for one night before our Allure cruise. It is about the closest hotel you can get to the port but there is NOTHING within walking distance of the hotel. We took the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel but then felt trapped there until we departed the next day on the $8 cruise p/p cruise shuttle. The hotel does have a nice pool, a convenience store (and you'll pay for convenience) and a restaurant - Kiki's. We ate there for dinner and breakfast as it was our only choice without paying for a cab to go elsewhere. The food is ok but nothing special.
Our room was clean and decorated in a modern style. Bed was comfortable enough for one night. As others have mentioned, the bathroom is small (to the point where you can't use the toilet w/o closing the door, nor does the door open all the way so you don't have room to stand at the vanity with the door open either.
The hotel offers return to airport shuttle after cruise (again, $8/pp) but we declined, figuring a cab would be cheaper and more efficient. This turned out to be true as we walked off the cruise, directly to a cab, which cost us $12. I'm not sure why the hotel tries to pressure guests into this unnecessary and over-priced service. We'll cruise from FLL again but, if flying in mid-day, will look for a hotel at the beach or within walking distance of restaurants and shopping.

The Crowne Plaza at this location is all about convenience and service. A free shuttle will pick you up and return you to the Lauderdale airport. Just call the hotel when you land. To reach the cruise terminals, you can take the hotel's shuttle for less than $10 per person. You can print your airline boarding pass in the hotel lobby. If you have any problem with acquiring a boarding pass, the well trained, very able staff will assist you. The rooms are large, impeccably clean, bright and cheerful without being gaudy. The bathroom has a walk in shower....no slippery tubs to take a header. Although not an oceanfront property, the hotel has a sparkling pool, nice outdoor patio and a full service restaurant serving 3 meals a day. There is also a convenience store attached to the restaurant. Service in the restaurant is very good, but the prices are a bit high; wine by the glass is really overpriced. I have stayed at this hotel on 4 separate occasions. The General Manager, Andre George, is very helpful and recognizes return guests even a year later. I would recommend the hotel to friends and family. Around the corner is a small Italian restaurant called Anthony's; their pizza is spectacular and there is an ample selection of inexpensive wines.

Room Tip: The higher floors have better views of the cruise ships.
