The service was good. The corn and crab chowder was not hot. In fact it was room temperature. The value of the meal did not meet my expectations. .

We’ve been here many times over the years. Arrived at 5:45 and told 2.5 hour wait. Since just two of us we grabbed a seat at the bar. The atmosphere is great as the place sits along the water. I do believe those wait times are created on purpose to drive people to the onsite bars for a drink or two. When a table empties it is not filled with another party for 20-30 minutes. The prices of the specialty meals are $49. This used to be our favorite place to visit but with the wait times and over priced menu, plenty of other great dining options to take advantage of the next time in the area.

Waited 1.5 hrs. I was the only one in our party of 4 who had been to Boshamps before and having had good experiences in the past, felt our group would enjoy the meal. Maybe we would have, except for what appeared to be a German roach racing across our table!! Unable to swat it for the kill, it ran towards me and i was unable to stifle a scream, which I’m sure was upsetting to many around us. I am sorry about that. We were moved to another table and finished our meal. The manager came over to be sure i was alright and offered an alcoholic drink which i declined.
Here’s the thing—anywhere there is food, doors opening and closing, and so on, there is a great likelihood of bugs. Probably can’t be helped. (And the manager said they “spray for bugs all the time”!). But here is my REAL complaint. . .we were not comped the meal or even a discount for our meal which was around $250. Unacceptable.

We arrived at the suggested 4-5pm time for less of a crowd and it paid off. When we left there was quite a wait even for September. Needless to say, the food, service, and view made any wait someone might have worth it. Very good experience. Had one of my favorite dishes now of all time - Putting on the Grits.

Let's start with we had a two-hour wait! Because it's just that good. However, it was worth the wait. Don't be discouraged because they have bar seating inside and out and they have four bars upstairs and down. Enough of that, let's give it up for the chef. When I say the food is excellent and one of the best restaurants I've been to in 2024. We started with Oysters Rockefeller followed by a 20 oz ribeye (caramelize onions) over a bed of mashed potatoes & collard greens. And the red snapper topped with lump crab and shrimp also with mash in collards. The Southern girl in me leaped for joy. We ended the night with a buttermilk pie that tasted like a custard with homemade pecan ice cream. I was in heaven. Our waiter James was awesome he was very knowledgeable and explain all the flavors I was tasting and very enthusiastic about his job. And the rest of staff rocks... not an idle soul inside the place. From bussing tables, up and down the stairs with trays of food ...all with smile on the face. Oh, and free valet... when we left our car was waiting for us up front because the waiter had already given them our valet ticket. Whenever I'm in Destin...I'm 🏃🏾‍♀️ to this restaurant.
