“BbtS: tired, old, poor value, relatively clean”
Reviewed 9 January 2011

Visit 9-15 Jan, 2010. Wife & I took a 1-bedroom unit. We came here with an RCI exchange through Hilton Grand Vacations. Having stayed at HGV locations many times, we were flatly disappointed with BbtS. Guess that BbtS was sold out.

We got a 2nd floor unit in the "older part." This place needs a true overhaul. Ancient furnishings, poor bathroom, kitchenette needs a complete overhaul. Only access is by stairs. No laundry. Worst of all - the place smells - dank, moldy. As you can imagine, the wife and I are not happy campers.

Location wise, it's not bad. Walking distance to Atlantic Ave where most of the restaurants & shops sit.

We hope to find a better unit and switch. The adventure with BbtS & HGV has to wait until Sunday or Monday. We arrived Saturday late. We are tired and spent from travel. This unit falls far below our expectations. If we cannot get a more pleasant experience, we'll leave and find something else or travel over to Orlando and go goofy.

My husband and I went to Delray May 22 /09 on an RCI exchange, not knowing what to expect. Aside from the rainy afternoons, we had a marvelous time, arranging our schedule around the weather.

We stayed at Berkshire on the Sea....quaint, clean, and right across the street from the ocean and around the corner from the main street. We followed Trip Advisor's recommendations.....Joseph's for our anniversary dinner was outstanding, as was Rocky's, Bostons, Boheme Bistro and the pizza place. We also went to the Morikami Gardens, a real must. The city is walkable, and pretty.

This was a last minute bargain RCI exchange, and I never know what to expect on those. Wow, we had a two bedroom which was huge, with a giant deck on the 4th floor overlooking the pool/spa area, palm trees along Ocean Blvd, and the ocean beyond. There are utility lines along the road but that was only a minor distraction. View rooms were the two bedrooms and living room. The place had a good feeling too, it's a nice size, and a wonderful location within walking distance to Atlantic Ave, the center of Delray Beach dining and nightlife. It's also across the road from a good beach. Inside, my unit was fairly old with some odd features, but it was kept up nicely with recent furnishings. The main TV was old, with a DVD player attached and 99-channel cable (no premium channels) and newer flatscreens in the bedrooms. The full kitchen had a large fridge, dishwasher, etc. but no garbage disposal. The beds were adequate. The free Wifi worked in the unit about 75% of the time, and there's also a computer to check email in the lobby. Unfortunately there's no desk or washer/dryer in the unit. The complex has a laundry room and a rec room with billiards and ping pong, plus tennis courts.

  • Liked — Location, size of unit, view, free wifi in unit.
  • Disliked — No washer dryer or desk in unit, but that's a minor detail.

Stayed here for a week and as always before booking checked Trip Advisor reviews. I agree with other reviewers that this is an excellent centrally located resort offering peace and relaxation fronting on to a beautiful beach. We stayed in a one bed unit in block A and although the older part of the resort we were not disappointed. It was pleasantly decorated and although not luxurious it was perfect for a relaxing break. We were in a unit on the first floor with views of the sea from every window.

A car is a must here although there is quite a bit to do in the area.
Staff are friendly and very helpful, of particular note was Robert.

Another reviewer pointed out about lack of security and yes there was no safe in the room, which was a bit worrying but everything was fine in this regard during our stay.

Overall a great resort perfect for a restful time.

This was an RCI exchange. The unit was very nice, furniture and other amenities adequate. We were in the main building, overlooking the pool but the noise wasn't a problem. However, we did suffer from noise from the unit above us, the kids were jumping on some sort of toy for hours, but the management took care of the problem. The grounds were maintained very well, we enjoyed both pools ( one, salt the other chlorine) ; it was too hot to use the hot tub. The best thing about the resort is that it's across the street from the beach, which is well-maintained with lifeguards. We will definitely return.
The one mistake was to go mid-June, which turns out to be the rainy season and put a bit of a damper on our ability to fully enjoy the water. Won't make THAT mistake again.
