If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay this is it! Off the beaten path , But still close to all local attractions. My Husband and I stayed here in Septenber and had the best time, There is beauity and nature everywhere you look, boat rentals, are available and the sights on the Saint Jhons River are breath takeing,The rooms are fully furnished including the kitchen, all you need to bring is your clothes and food. the staff here do all they can to make your time there pleasent. They have wi-fi , cable and a heated pool to relax by. I give Tropical a thumbs up

My teen son and I stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, with a full kitchen, and full bathroom. First the good: it was spacious, allowed for some privacy, the grounds were pretty (on the lake), there was free wi fi (once we could get the password from the owners--the office lady didn't have a clue), cable TV, the full kitchen, a shower that really sprayed water on you and worked well!, friendly people, and sliding glass doors to a sitting area outside. OK--now the cons: Upon walking into the unit, we were nearly bowled over by the smell. It was kind of musty, kind of mildewy. We went right out to the store, and bought some Lysol and Febreeze. While the kitchen was complete, the microwave was old and cracked, and the oven cooked very unevenly (it burnt our slice n bakes). One bedroom has a queen bed, and the other "bedroom" has two twins. There isn't anyone or anything around to do after 6pm. it is a 10 minute drive to Deland, hardly a mecca of bustling activity. All the stores were closed after 6pm.
It was a lot of space, and quite inexpensive, but we found ourselves quite ready to depart, and even considered leaving after one night instead of two, but we had already pre-paid, and the office was closed. It was fine for what it was.

What a great property! We stayed here for a few days for a river boating experience. They have rental boats available, and their marina has good access to fishing. The rooms have full kitchens which was handy for the fish we caught. Their pool is heated, making it comfortable to swim in year round, although we came in the summer so that wasn’t an issue. Should we come back this winter, which is a sure possibility, then the heated pool will be more useful. Oh, another convenient amenity would be the on-site laundry. During our week-long stay that was very useful.
Being waterfront was great. The rooms where clean, staff friendly, a/c worked well, and comfortable beds. Great value for the price.
