Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: No Walk-ins Accepted - Small boat tours - We no longer offer tours: May-October due to the water quality and manatee numbers. Tour Reservation Confirmation Required by email only -We are a private tour company owned and operated ONLY by the owners/captains. We give each tour the "personal and educational" attention you want and allow the manatees to feel comfortable while we explore their world. While on tour if you ask, we'll even explain how manatee rescues are performed and what we do in our spare time as manatee volunteers to help PROTECT and PRESERVE, this incredible species for future generations. LOOK- DON'T TOUCH the wild manatees, touching/rubbing/petting manatees reduces their chance for survival as you habituate them towards boats and people. Keep wildlife wild.

Our family of four - Mom, Dad and two sons (ages 6 & 9) - had a fantastic time with Capt. Stacy. She could not have been more accommodating of our travel plans and made the day a stress free experience. Seeing our 9 year old come face-to-face with a manatee was incredible. Capt. Stacy was wonderful with the kids who were a bit nervous going in the water. The family photos she took of us and e-mailed were an unbelievable bonus and much appreciated. Her love of the manatees comes through and she taught the boys wonderful lessons about caring for these creatures and their environment. After seeing other crowded tour boats in the bay, we knew we made the right choice

My daughter, 24, son, 20 and a sophomore marine bio major at Eckerd College and I--- aging mom- spent a several hours from mid-afternoon to dinner time with Captain Stacy and three of the manatees that call Crystal River home all year long. We met a mom and her almost 2 year old baby as well as another juvenile. Comfortable in our wet suits and snorkel gear, which we rented from Stacy, we "hung in the water" watching the baby nurse, mom munch on clumps of bottom vegetation and the juvenile cat nap between taking breaths of air at the surface. He had the cutest whiskered nose. We fell absolutely in love with these sweet, gentle creatures.

Stacy's passion for the manatees is evident. She is very knowledgeable and eager to share her experiences and knowledge of manatees as well as the environment which they now are forced to share with increasing numbers of people. We felt very comfortable with Stacy's direction so as to "meet" but respect the space of these creatures. We all highly recommend you tour with Manatees in Paradise. If you have a good underwater camera- bring it- we did not have one but Stacy kindly provided photos for us---- WOW! It was also delightful to snorkel up into the Three Sisters Springs. Beautiful clear water - and fun to see the springs that provide a main water source in the area. Don't miss this opportunity.

As a marine science student in college I would highly recommend Captain Stacy Dunns trip. It was an incredible experience both finding and seeing these wonderful creatures in the wild. You can see the respect and care the Captains have for these animals when they talk about them. They are ready to take the steps to place the manatees safety over their own commercial interest, not always a common trait. It was a great trip, with someone who truely appreciates nature for what it is. If you hope to see the manatees up close without causing any detrimental affects to them, this is your best choice, a great tour and great owners.

There are only a handful out there like this outfit that do it because they love it and love the manatees. What made the difference:

Us: Nice new (small) boat and wetsuits. Manatees over there? Let's load up our tiny party and cruise over. Capt. Mike knows the spots, and can see their signs. Capt. Mike is retired and just does this because he loves it. No hurry. You like hanging out here? We're going to hang out. Even though it's warm and only a handful of manatees are left (we went 4/5/12) we're surrounded by Manatees as long as we do what Mike says. If Mike can't find manatees, it's because there aren't any.

Them: Cattle Barge. Splishing and splashing running the manatees off. Pretty much drop everyone off at a single spot as it's a huge affair getting everyone in & out. One crazy guy even ran his boat onto rocks!

Also, don't discount the swim visit to the crystal spring area at the end. Clearest water I've ever seen, fishies everywhere, fiddler crabs on the shore, a nice relaxing way to wrap up the trip.

Mike makes it safe, fun, educational, and most of all memorable. Mike & Stacy run a solid outfit, there's a reason they're #1 here.

Was about $250 for a private tour of 3 ppl. Crazy cheap when you think about the level of service and experience you get with them.

Many thanks guys. I didn't really expect this to be anywhere as fun/memorable as it turned out to be. Mike even took pictures while we were out and sent them to us free.

Note: There's another "Capt. Mike" out there that runs a manatee outfit in the same area who gets really bad reviews on this site. Totally different Capt. Mike. This Mike & Stacy are wonderful to deal with, polite, and knowledgable. Everybody seems to know and like them.

We booked this trip based on the positive reviews on the site, and we were not disappointed. I was glad to have a guide who is so passionate about the manatees and their well being. Our daughter who is 9 years old loves manatees and was thrilled to be so close to them, but also to learn from Captain Stacy. We had a great time and would say that this is the way to go. It was only our family on the boat and that allowed us to ask all the questions we wanted.
