Description: Waterfront dining at its finest! Family-owned & operated for more than 112 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm & award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine & wine list. Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Filet Mignon "Columbia," & fresh seafood specialties. Sample a fine Spanish wine like Torres, Montecillo or Campillo. Don't miss our world-famous Original 1905(R) Salad, named "One of America's Top 10 Best Salads" by USA Today -- The only restaurant in Florida to be named. Whether you choose a table looking out onto the radiant blue waters of the Intracoastal Waterway from the Mediterranean dining room, or experience the casual atmosphere from our outdoor deck on the water, you can enjoy the cuisine that has consistently been voted Tampa Bay's Favorite. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Booked this meal to celebrate a family birthday. We sat on the terrace overlooking the bay, which was beautifully cool after an extremely hot day. The menu here was completely different to any other we have tried on our many visits to this area. The variety of dishes offered were varied, well prepared and above all tasty. If you want to get away from the usual fast food venues (and menus) then I would highly recommend this restaurant. We have already booked to visit again.

If you're looking for something a bit nicer than a beach eat, try Columbia. This Cuban restaurant has an expansive dining room with high ceilings and windows open to the waterfront. The menu is quite extensive with items that you won't see every day but even a picky eater will find something to enjoy. Be sure to get the Original 1905 salad. It is prepared table-side and is absolutely delicious. Even though we all know you shouldn't fill up on bread, it's hard not to when each diner receives his/her own warm loaf. The entree portions are large enough to share or at least give everyone at the table the option to sample from each other's plates. We didn't have dessert but did have the Cuban cafe con leche. I'm a coffee drinker, my husband is not. He finished his entire cup. It's got a lovely atmosphere as well. It was nice to get out of swimsuits and put on something a little nicer for dinner, though "dressing up" is not required (just no beach clothes).

This is our go to spot for lunch or dinner when we do our annual trip each February. We prefer a late lunch, enjoying the magnificent views from the bar and it avoids the parking limitation headache. Once inside service is excellent with friendly, helpful staff and an excellent menu plus a 1906 on tap. Their salads and calamari are outstanding and often all it takes to fill us up. The harbor views and relaxing atmosphere are a perfect way to end the day of shopping (next door) or sightseeing. The food reminds me of the great portuguese places down neck for you jersey folks....

Was expecting a hole in the wall (no, did not review images prior to going) but wow, a beautiful restaurant. Staff was decent, lacked personality. Food was just ok for the price. Sides were better than the main part of the meal. Would recommend finding a better Cuban restaurant, something with less menu items but more authentic Cuban dishes. A typical dish that I occasionally eat was surprisingly not on the menu. Boyfriend was dissatisfied with his pork, my fault because again, what we were expecting wasn’t there. I’m going to make up for it by taking to a much better Cuban restaurant in our neighborhood.

We’ve been here before usually when visiting the Sand Key side. Food is good and service is good.
Now I’ll say this, don’t compare meals eaten elsewhere as Columbia doesn’t it differently.
We had the pork lion al la Cubans, which is served with white rice, black beans and yuca and maduros (sweet plantain bananas). Also ordered was the salmon in a parchment wrapped which is topped with seafood, some asparagus and tomatoes. The top of the salmon was a bit dry but underneath was very good. The fish comes with Spanish rice and peas.
Ordered the white sangria, very refreshing for a hot day out.
Ordered the crema Catalina, which is a Spanish creme brûlée, topped with a sugar and then torched to perfection.
Overall great place to go and try
