We are starting to explore the Cleveland Street district of downtown Clearwater and decided to try Chiang Mai Thai & Sushi Bar. The restaurant is very attractive inside, with a lot of Asian artwork. We sat in a booth, but there are also many well-spaced traditional tables settings, as well as a section with low tables designed for you to sit on the floor.
Our server was an extremely nice young lady who provided quick service, was very attentive throughout our meal, and had a great sense of humor. We ordered steamed dumplings as an appetizer, plus green curry with shrimp and a Hurricane super specialty roll for our entrees. We order steamed dumplings a lot and this was one of the better dishes we've had in this area. The green curry with shrimp was very spicy and delicious. The Hurricane roll was generous in size and quite good. I prefer brown rice in sushi rolls but, unfortunately, they don't offer it as an option. Although the sushi was quite flavorful, I did think the white rice in it was a little bit gummy. But, overall, we greatly enjoyed the experience, found the prices to be quite reasonable for the area, and will definitely return to try other menu items. We also want to reserve one of the low tables.
