Astoria has a fine pastry selection, made daily. But sometimes there is no quiche. That is a problem because on my most recent visit a customer walked out when told that there was no quiche and another who ordered something else was disappointed in having to do that. I too wanted quiche but settled for apple strudel. The beverages are excellent. I always get the hot cappachino, with cinnamon. A small place with a major take-out trade. Inside and outside seating.

We happened upon this place while on vacation and what a pleasant find. So many things looked good that we took a variety of pastries to eat back at our vacation home. We tried a Napoleon, chocolate eclair, fruit tart, apple strudel, cherry hazelnut biscotti cheesecake, and a chocolate hazelnut cookie bar. All were very good and rich. I think we all agreed the cheesecake was the best. This may be a strange thing to say but the eclair and Napoleon may have had a tad too much pastry cream for my liking. The desserts seem very reasonable priced as well with none coming to more than four dollars and change. Will definitely be coming back here when we are in the area again.

We were recently given a thank you gift of a German chocolate cake from Astoria and it is by far the best one we have ever tasted. We will definitely be visiting this pastry shop in the near future.
