My husband and I have just returned from three nights at the Beach View Hotel. The hotel is well cared for and clean, and the front desk staff were polite and helpful. It's really close to the Boardwalk, and I imagine it might be a little loud during high season, but it was a pretty quiet week in Rehoboth so it wasn't a problem for us. We enjoyed the balcony overlooking Wilmington Ave with its two white rockers and small table.
The continental breakfast in the mornings included bagels (with toasters provided) with cream cheese, butter, and/or jelly as toppings, assorted pastries and donuts (The pastries were a little stale as the week progressed, but the hotel was far from full that week.), yogurt, cereal and milk, coffee, hot cocoa, tea, orange and apple juice, and bananas.
The pool was small but clean. We didn't swim as it was too chilly and the pool was quite cold as it is not heated. The pool area was nice and the lounge chairs were comfortable and relatively new. Beach chairs were also available to borrow for trips to the beach.
There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are lots nearby. Next door is a place that has a great cooked breakfast in the mornings and ice cream at night. It is next to another small hotel and then Thrasher's French Fries on the Boardwalk. On the other side of the hotel there is a cafe and next to it a tasty Mexican restaurant. There were lots of other good places to eat and shop within walking distance. We never moved our car the whole time we were there.
We paid $114 per night for a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony, frig and microwave. There was one king bed and a small sofa (which may have been a sofabed) along with the standard desk, chair, tv armoire, etc. A full-sized iron and ironing board were in the closet area, and there was a working hair dryer in the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and offered a nice little basket of toiletries
Overall I would say it was a very nice hotel for the money. I am used to staying in Hiltons and other nicer hotels, so I'm pretty fussy, particularly about cleanliness, and I was very pleased. I would definitely go back to the Beach View Hotel.
