Clear Space has really "taken it up" a notch or two in the last few years. High quality performing arts with shows throughout the year including local and national talent. Their programming includes everything from Broadway favorites to contemporary theater family shows to more "edgy" productions. Definitely worth a visit.

We were at the shore for Thanksgiving and thought the production of "Meet Me in Saint Louis" would be a nice way to start the holiday season, since it features the song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". The theater is in a former church, with all the pews removed and a thrust stage constructed into what was the nave. That's the one drawback -- the seats are all on one level and are banquet hall dining chairs that have been placed very, very close to one another. The show was not sold out, and we moved to the empty back row at intermission so we could sit more comfortably. I'm sure they're trying to get as many seats in there as possible, but before we moved I felt like I couldn't even move my arms without bumping the person next to me.

With that said, the show more than exceeded our expectations for a local production. The cast was excellent, especially the two actresses who played Esther and Tootie. We visit Rehoboth every year and would definitely consider going back (and choosing seats in the back row, which don't seem to have been placed as close together.

We saw this very edgy play and were very impressed with the actors. This production was as good as you would see at a professional theater in Philly. The play is certainly dark and the topic (pedophilia) was unusual for Clear Space but it was very well done!

This year, I've had the pleasure of watching an incredibly talented and artful cast of many perform The Laramie Project, Eyecons of Broadway, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, but the BEST live show I have seen besides a few on Broadway was The Final Bow (as in they should all take a bow) because Clearspace has accumulated a masterful group of actors from schools and venues across our country (possibly farther) and, one by one, last night, after a 2-hour performance of Priscilla, each artist gave a solo song or dance that was worthy of accolades and awards at the National level. SO IMPRESSIVE, and, by the way, it was SOLD OUT !!!!!

We went to see their production of Chicago. The staging was simple but effective and the singing was excellent. The only negative was the sound. The actors aren't miked and when they are upstage, they can be very difficult to hear. Often missed the lead in to songs or some dialogue. Still very good production.
